I want to share with you all today my favourite locally-available cleanser. There was a time, years back, when I didn’t store much stock against Lakme, they were “okay” but recently, my goodness, have they changed and how! They have completely revamped their image with a skin care line that can compete internationally. I have used some of their products and two products stand out in my personal experience – “Lakme Citrus Rain Fruit Blast Detox Face Wash and Lakme Fundamentals Deep Pore Cleanser. If you may please, let’s check out the cleanser in more detail.
- Formulated with natural avocado extracts.
- Lakme Deep Pore Cleanser gently cleans the skin of all surface impurities.
- Antioxidants like Vitamin E condition skin.
Usage and Directions:
- Suitable all year round.
- Apply on face and neck. Remove with damp cotton wool and rinse.
- For best results, follow up with Lakme Peach and Milk Moisturizer.
- Visibly cleaned, purified skin.
Rs. 99 for 120 ml.
It comes in a peachy-pinkish plastic bottle with a flip cap. It feels pretty sturdy. Though I wouldn’t recommend traveling with this as I’m just scared it may spill. I have kept it in my bag when I was on the run and it has not leaked, but still, I usually avoid as I don’t want to take that chance. If it were a screw-on type of lid, I’d be more comfortable traveling with it.
It has a white creamy texture. It spreads very easily and I only need a very little amount each time. It doesn’t have a very strong fragrance, but it smells like a typical skin care product. I find it hard to describe this fragrance; it has both a fruity as well as a chemical quality to its fragrance. It does linger for a while till you wash it off.
I’m currently on my second bottle of this and feel that it is fairly true to its claims. It does not make any tall claims anyway. It is a decent cleanser. I have to use this at night or I just cannot sleep thinking about the excess dirt on my face! If I have any makeup on, I first use a makeup remover or baby oil, then use this cleanser with a damp cotton ball, then rinse my face and then apply my moisturizer/night cream. I also use it in the mornings/afternoons depending on the weather. In winters, my skin doesn’t feel like it needs extra cleansing in the morning, I just go directly to washing, toning and moisturizing, but in summers, I love using this twice a day.
This may look disgusting and my apologies in advance for it, but I just wanted to demonstrate the product’s results.
This is how a damp cotton looks after using this product around noon, I had not applied anything on my face prior to the cleanser.
This is another cotton ball after using the cleanser at night. I had not applied a smidge of makeup the whole day, only applied moisturizer around noon. I did step out in the evening for 10-15 minutes.
Are you grossed out already? :yuck: I know I am every time I realize what our skin must go through in just one day! Also, to show its effect on residual makeup, I tried it on some fresh makeup swatches too, after just one single swipe, it took off a lot of the makeup. I was impressed.
It really leaves the skin feeling extremely clean! After cleansing, I have to put in an effort to stop myself from touching my face again and again just to feel the smoothness. I love using this. Though the dirty cotton ball grosses me out, I still look forward to seeing how much stuff shows up on it.
What I Like about Lakme Fundamentals Deep Pore Cleanser:
- It does what it claims.
- It feels cooling and soothing too.
- Comes in a sturdy package.
- Not bad for that price.
- A little goes a long way.
- Everything else!
What I Do Not Like about Lakme Fundamentals Deep Pore Cleanser:
- It has a fragrance to it and my EXTRA sensitive nose can’t wait to wash it off with water. It goes away as quickly as it comes though.
- Contains parabens.
Would I Recommend Lakme Fundamentals Deep Pore Cleanser?
YES! Anyone with normal or dry or normal-to-dry should love this and for that price and easy availability, this really and truly delivers! Of course, I cannot comment on how oily skin beauties will react to this.
4.7/5 (deducting only because of the fragrance).
I hope this helped!
Happy Makeuping! :mirror:
