Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Finish Foundation Review

Hello everyone,
Today, I introduce another new brand on IMBB, Le Metier de Beaute. This is another luxurious beauty and skincare brand which I had heard great things about. Firstly, let me start off with a little introduction for them.

About the Brand:
There must be something better out there…
This is the statement that started Le Metier de Beaute (which translates to “the craft of beauty”)  in 2008. Designer and Founder Richard Blanch was working with stylists and photographers on advertising shoots for clients and was frustrated by the lack of quality make up he found. So he made his own. Working with world class chemists, injecting his own scientific knowledge, and bringing in strategic partners, he built a roster of superstar products that stylists, fashion editors, beauty editors and models grabbed for themselves. A movement was born!

Product Description:
About the product:
This lightweight, light diffusing, creamy formula evens out skin tone and imperfections for a luminous, natural look. Hydrating emollients and age-defying ingredients create a creamy formula that glides on effortlessly and blends in quickly for flawless coverage that lasts all day.

Contains a stretchy, elastic molecule that allows makeup to expand and contract with the movement and contours of the skin, eliminating cracking and makeup exposing itself in fine lines.

Skin loving moisturizers and Vitamins A & E for a healthy, hydrated complexion. Protects skin from harmful UVA/UVA rays with SPF 8.

Oil-free.

Dermatologist tested.

Safe for all skin types including sensitive skin.

My Experience with Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Finish Foundation:

Packaging:
This foundation comes in a simple heavy glass bottle with a pump. The packaging is simple and minimalist and I am not impressed. When you compare it with other luxury brands, like YSL and Guerlain, this packaging feels underwhelming.

Texture/Consistency/Blendability:
This foundation has a thin consistency, but it is not watery or runny. It is very very easy to blend. It just glides silky smooth on the skin. And, with a few dabs and taps of my Beauty Blender, it creates a flawless and seamless even-looking canvas on the skin.

Coverage:
This foundation is not super thick or creamy, but it does deliver good amount of coverage with the thinnest layer. Hence, it stays feeling lightweight and non-cakey on the skin while still covering imperfections. It has medium-buildable full coverage. I use 1-1/2 pumps for my whole face and it evens out my skin tone completely and hides most of my acne breakouts.

Finish:
This foundation sets on its own without the need to powder on my normal-dry skin. It sets to demi- matte/satin finish which looks very natural and like second skin. There is a slight amount of radiance and luminosity to it which gives the appearance of healthy skin, but the skin still does not look shiny or dewy.

Shade:
I have the shade 4 which is not the perfect match (as I did buy it online) and is a shade lighter than my MAC NW22-25 skin tone. It does have prominent yellow undertone which on occasion does make my naturally pink undertone skin sallow, but it’s nothing a light dusting of bronzer and blush can’t fix.

Feel on skin:
This foundation was quite hydrating but since I do have dry skin I did need to apply a light layer of a moisturizer to avoid this foundation from clinging on to my dry patches. This foundation keeps my skin feeling very comfortable. My skin feels soft and plump whenever I wear this. I do think this foundation will suit all skin types including oily (who may need to add some powder for better longevity).

Staying Power:
This foundation is super long wearing. I have worn this for 8-9 hours with barely any touch-ups. It did not get too shiny and showed minimal signs of fading. There was also no creasing and it basically looked flawless and fresh.

Fragrance:
This foundation does have a mild makeup-y type scent. I don’t enjoy it but it does not linger too long on the skin, so I don’t mind it as much.

Overall:
I am very impressed with this foundation which is my first buy from this brand. Just like the name says this is a very “classic” foundation, something you can reach for all the time and be sure to get good results. I will recommend this.
