ELF 32 Piece Eye Shadow Palette – Everyday Basics
I’m here with another ELF review today. After I tried the Little Black Book I decided to give this 32 palette a shot. Turns out, it wasn’t a good idea. The palette I’m going to review is called “Everyday Basics”. A similar palette in “Warm” was reviewed a few days ago here.
Packaging:
Starting with the packaging; this sleek case contains 32 eye shadows for everyday use with a mirror attached along with a sponge applicator. This palette is twice the size of Little Black Book.
Pigmentation and Staying Power:
These eye shadows have poor pigmentation and staying power. All the eye shadows (except the metallic and shimmery ones) had to be swatched twice to show the color pay off. Since the pigmentation is bad, the staying power gets affected too. The charcoal, silver and black eye shadows have poor pigmentation. The copper and brown shades of the first two rows are my favorites.
Texture and Application:
This palette has mostly matte eye shadows along with a couple of shimmery and metallic/frost finish eye shadows. Some of the matte eye shadows are very chalky while the ones containing glitter and shimmer have a small fallout problem. For application I use my fingers to dab the eye shadow on my eye lid as using a brush somehow fades the color away! Sigh.
ELF Cosmetics have ‘hit or miss’ products and this palette is definitely a miss for me. There’s only so much you can expect from 5 dollar products but ELF does have some amazing products at the same prices! Although this palette has beautiful coppers and browns it’s kind of pointless when I just have 10-15 eye shadows to work with from the entire 32! It’s perfect for teenagers and beginners who have just started experimenting with makeup. As for me, I won’t be repurchasing or recommending this palette to anyone.
Price:
