Today I am doing a review on a lipstick which my friend asked me to do. It’s Lissome “It’s simple” lip color in shade 509. Like Inglot, Lissome lippies too do not have shade names on their lip colors, it’s just numbers.
(As on their website) “It’s Simple Lipstick”
• Contains Shea Butter and Vitamin E Which nourish, moisturize and condition lips,
• Special ingredients lock in the color and stay longer than ordinary lipsticks.
• Leaves lips smooth and supple even after removal
• No need to use any separate lip balm or gloss.
• Gives a superior glide and application.
• Does no smudge. Rich, vibrant and trendy colors in Cremè, Frost and Matte, It’s Simple
The packaging is quite cute. It comes in a pale mauve color. Nothing classy but it is funky.
The shade is a true maroon which leaves behind a pinkish hue when rubbed off. It has got very fine shimmer (as you can see on its tip) which is not visible when applied on lips. It is highly pigmented. Also I have thin lips, so the color made them look thinner! But it would really suit someone with perfect pout, or someone who can effortlessly carry darker shades. Just have a look at the swatches and you will know what I mean by dark shade. This is a super night wear color. It will really compliment ethnic wear. But of course, your eye makeup should be understated as this color screams attention,so for eye makeup lovers like me, this color is not a must- have. After I rubbed off the swatch from my wrists, tiny shimmer particles showed on my skin.
It lasts for about 4 hours on my lips. I did not keep it for more than that time, so it might last longer.
Age group who can flaunt this color:
Women above 25 years of age. This maroon isn’t a “teenage” color, if you know what I mean.
It would be a nice option for wheat-ish and darker skinned beauties. Girls who are very fair might find it a tad difficult to pull off.
Finally here are the lip swatches. The color is looking lighter here (the picture is taken in daylight), but it’s just the color you see on the wrist swatch.
Pros of Lissome Lipstick Shade 509 :
1. Super buttery, moisturizing and long lasting lippy.
2. Gorgeous night wear color.
3. Won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
4. Buildable color, highly pigmented.
5. No overpowering smell.
Cons of Lissome Lipstick Shade 509 :
1. No shade name mentioned.
2. Availability is an issue.
3. Maroon may make you look older.
4. Definitely not a daywear color!
Will I recommend Lissome Lipstick Shade 509 ?
Yes to the ones who can carry maroons.
Will I repurchase Lissome Lipstick Shade 509 ?
Well, not this shade, but I want to try out pinks and peaches from this range as they are so buttery soft
IMBB Rating :
5/5 for the texture, 3.5/5 for the shade
Hope you found it helpful.Keep smiling, keep glowing
