L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream Review

I love well groomed hands and hand creams – well, who doesn’t? I love keeping moisturising products handy, especially during winters when my feet and hands tend to get super dry. So this time when I wanted to try out a new hand cream, I gave this fresh and zesty hand cream a try.

My Experience with L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream:

I have used many L’Occitane hand creams, and love to try out a new variant every time. So this time, I chose this “Shea Zesty Lime”. The packaging is excellent for a hand cream, like all of the other variants. It’s bright green and silver with a black cap. A very travel friendly and sturdy packaging. The opening is perfect; just the right amount of product comes out and the tube gives us the control over product. All the necessary details about the product are also on the packaging. So a mess-free and no non-sense kind of packaging; I dig!

Since this is the lime variant, I was expecting it to smell just like limes. And guess what, it does! I love how fresh and invigorating limes smell especially in this gloomy weather. For most of us, the fragrance of our products make or break the deal – so if you love the fragrance of limes and lemons, then you are definitely going to love it, if not then stay away. The fragrance lingers fresh for around an hour on my hands even if I wash my hands with water, and then fades away (getting a bit stale though).

The texture is also very good – very creamy and spreads well. It gets absorbed within a few seconds of gentle massage. It is very light and I anyway do not have sweaty hands, so it does not feel greasy. Honestly I think this one is a good option for sweaty hands too. I made a friend, who sweats a lot while driving, try it and this cream didn’t make her hands sweat much.

So now coming to the performance. First of all L’Occitane claims that it “protects”, but I am not really sure from what. Fire? Earthquake? Alien attacks? But since it is a hand cream, I am assuming from factors like dryness and roughness, and I agree that it does. It keeps my hands well moisturised and free of any roughness. It also has nourished my hands, and has made my skin healthier and more supple. My hands remain soft and moisturised for around 5 hours, after which they just remain soft, but not very moisturised. I do not have severely dry hands, so I do not mind this. But if you happen to have very dry, parched and rough hands, then this one won’t work alone. You might need something that has more than just 20% of shea butter in it.

L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream Review4

Overall I would say it is a very very nice hand cream that smells heavenly of limes (again, if you love limes). It keeps hands soft and moisturised, but even after two weeks of usage it won’t really heal and transform super dry hands. Go for it if you don’t mind paying this amount for 30ml; if you happen to use it twice daily the tube will last you around 3 weeks IMO.

Pros of L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream:

• Functional, sturdy and travel friendly packaging
• Smells really really fresh
• Non greasy
• Doesn’t induce sweat
• Keep hands soft for hours
• Spreads easily
• Gets absorbed quickly
• Feels very lightweight
• Hands remain moisturised even after washing with water

Cons of L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream:

• Cannot cure severe dryness
• Lime fragrance could put some people off, not sure
• Price
• Not a groundbreaking hand cream

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5

Would I Repurchase L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream?
I would love to since I love the fragrance so much, but in summers. I like more warm and musky fragrances during winters.

Would I Recommend L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream?
If you don’t mind the price and love everything lime, try it. It is not the best hand cream, but it certainly does everything it claims.
