L’Occitane Spring Cherry Iridescent Shower Gel Review

L’Occitane Spring Cherry Iridescent Shower Gel Review

Hi All,

For Valentine’s Day 2013, L’Occitane Australia introduced the spring cherry range.  I had purchased quite a bit of products from this range. This range consists of an EDT, hand cream, shower gel, hydrating gel as well as a cute soap. I will be reviewing the shower gel today. I have finished using this shower gel as I purchased the small size, but I took pictures earlier. I was so impressed that I purchased the full size after that, just in case.  L’Occitane has some ranges throughout the year but some other editions only come out during certain times of the year, during special occasions and this is one of them.

Product Description and Claims:

Our Spring Cherry collection celebrates the season with an ode to the carefree enjoyment of youth’s first love. Indulge in a fragrant and luminescent shower experience with the shower gel, inspired by the thousands of beautiful butterflies that flutter from blossom to blossom of the cherry trees that fill the landscapes of Provence.  This body shower gel has subtle iridescent shimmers just like butterfly wings. Containing shimmering particles, the luxurious Spring Cherry Shower Gel leaves skin lightly iridescent. Our foaming formula gently cleanses with a soft botanical foaming base. Made with cherry extract from the Luberon region of Provence, the shower gel leaves a fresh and floral scent.

My Experience with L’Occitane Spring Cherry Iridescent Shower Gel:

I was looking for a floral/fruity shower gel but one that doesn’t make my skin dry. The shower gel comes in a clear plastic bottle which has cherry blossoms engraved in it. I love cherry blossom fragrances and I have used The Body Shop Cherry Blossom as well as the previous versions of L’Occitane Cherry Blossom ranges. This packaging is super feminine and has a pretty pink shade.

The fragrance is an “in-between” of fruity and floral fragrances. It is slightly citrus but also has cherry blossom. It is totally lovable, romantic and feminine but not strong. So, if you like strong musky fragrances, then stay away from this range. However, if you have purchased such fragrances from L’Occitane before and love their feminine and romantic ranges, then please try this shower gel. This shower gel has shimmer particles. This does not lather much but it envelops me as well as the whole shower and bathroom with an awesome fragrance. The iridescent particles give a luxurious feeling and take the whole showering experience to another level.

My skin feels well cleansed but not dry. Even in winter, I can use this and skip moisturizer on that particular day if I want to but I do not have very dry skin. The golden particles go away when rinsed off. I have the lotion as well as the EDT of the same range and love layering for a super duper effect. By itself, the fragrance of the shower gel stays on for at least 1.5 hours in winter, not too bad if you ask me.

Pros of L’Occitane Spring Cherry Iridescent Shower Gel:

  • Smells romantic, feminine and cute.
  • Other products from the same range can be used for layering.
  • I searched again and again, but no parabens – yes, you heard it right, this product is paraben free.
  • The golden shimmer particles add a wow factor.

Cons of L’Occitane Spring Cherry Iridescent Shower Gel:

  • Quite expensive compared to other brands.
  • I have seen this since February 2013 but since it is limited edition, might not be available forever (I am trying to hoard).

IMBB Rating:

4.8/5

I love, love this shower gel. I purchased the travel size first and then repurchased the full size.
