My Experience with L’Oreal Glossy Balm in Ginger Candy:

Packaging:  These glossy balms from L’Oreal come in a chubby stick format and the product twists up, so there is absolutely no hassle of sharpening. I like the fact that the shade of the lipstick corresponds to the shade of the packaging, making it very easy spot among other lipsticks of the same kind. It has a reflective silver cap which does attract a lot of fingerprints.

Texture:  These glossy balms have a gel-like consistency and glide on the lips like a dream. There is no tugging and the application is super smooth and even. The finish is highly glossy upon application though the shine does settle down after an hour or so and turns into a sheen.

Shade:  The shade “Ginger Candy” is a beautiful peachy n*de.  It’s not the kind of n*de which would wash out your face due to its peachy light pink undertone, hence light-medium skin tones can carry this shade with ease. It does have a slight amount of shimmer which does not feel too gritty and is not very noticeable on the lips.  I myself am not a huge fan of n*de lips and tend to prefer brighter deeper shades, but I do like this shade.

Pigmentation:  The shade “Ginger Candy” is not as pigmented as the other darker shades in this line, but the color can be built up to opaqueness with multiple swipes. Even with multiple swipes, the product does not feel too heavy and feels very comfortable on the lips.

Feel on lips:  These glossy balms feel very hydrating and moisturizing on the lips. They do not stick on to dry patches and does not accentuate fine lines on lips.

Staying Power:  It stays 3-4 hours on me which is okay, not too impressive and this being a lighter shade tends to disappear far more quickly if I eat or drink. Even though transference is minimal, you still need to reapply every couple of hours for the color to remain visible.  It does not stain the lips after it fades.

Fragrance:  I detect little to no scent which is a good thing for sensitive noses.

Overall, I do enjoy this product a lot and I would love to try out other shades from this range. If you are tempted by this review, but do not prefer n*de shades, the shades Pink me up, Baby Berry, Vintage Rose and Innocent Coral have also been reviewed on IMBB, so go check those out.
