Product description:

This kohl is the pencil-type with the shade of the kohl being the color of the pencil. It has a silver cap. The list of ingredients and the shade is mentioned on the pencil itself.

My experience with L’Oreal Paris Contour Khol in Aquatic blue:

I am a big fan of greens and blues in eye makeup and picked this because the color was unique and kind of a greenish-blue with green on the higher side. In my opinion, this is not kohl but eyeliner. This shade is not stark green or blue which makes the eyes stand out but a sparkling kind of green. It’s a bit hard and this leads to tugging and pulling of eye during application on the waterline. I think this particular shade is a dull shade for kohl and may look good if combined with other dark shades like a cobalt blue or peacock green, but just on its own looks a bit light. When used just as an eyeliner, it’s a nice shade. The staying power is decent if you use a primer. It looks very light on the waterline (especially for a girl like me who loves intensely defined eyes) but looks descent as an eyeliner and has a staying power of about 3-4 hours. I think the jet black shade or any other dark shade can be used as kohl but this one when used alone looks really dull and makes you look gloomy :P . One more thing I don’t like is the wastage of product because of sharpening and the kohl not being waterproof adds to the woes.

Pros of L’Oreal Paris Contour khol in Aquatic blue:-

1) Decent staying power when used with a primer.
2) Good when used as eyeliner and gives a nice sparkling greenish hue when combined with other dark colors.
3) The price is good when compared to other L’Oreal products and many shades to choose from.
4) Descent pigmentation.
5) Easily available and ophthalmologically tested.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Contour Khol in Aquatic blue:

1) This I am saying just for this shade….very dull when used on its own.
2) Can be used as an eyeliner but not for the waterline.
3) Not waterproof
4) Contains paraben
5) Wastage of product during sharpening.

Final verdict:

It’s a good eye pencil but cannot be used as kohl. This particular shade is for girls who like soft shades on the waterline but I like my eyes to be clearly defined and intense pigmentation in eye makeup is what I love. I am not saying this product is bad but it’s just not for girls who don’t like to reapply their makeup every 3 hours and like intensive eyes.

Will I buy Loreal Paris Contour Khol-Aquatic Blue again?

This particular shade, no. but I think I might buy some other darker shades.

IMBB rating:

3.5/5

I mostly use green or brown liners, if at all because black looks harsh on my light brown eyes. I love the color but hate the fact that it tugs and pulls the lid.

yeah leez..although i like black intense eyes so this colour was too light for me!
