L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation

Product Description:

Infallible Makeup is L’Oréal Paris’ first foundation that fights the signs of makeup meltdown and lasts for up to 16 hours.  The exceptional continuous perfecting power of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation is a result of L’Oréal Paris’ Laboratories scientific innovation: Co-Resistium technology.  The Infallible make-up formula with a high dry pigment content provides optimal coverage and evens out skin tone perfectly. Encased in a fluoride base, the ultra-resistant pigments contribute to form a barrier against perspiration and sebum, and to provide exceptional foundation hold up to 16 hours!  On application, the Co-Resistium technology forms a highly resistant and extremely stable network. This allows the pigments to remain in cohesion with the skin, for a uniform colour and a good hold. Therefore they preserve the skin’s natural freshness and luminosity while lastingly guarding against signs of fatigue. The result: a perfect finish that looks freshly applied all day long!

• Infallible make-up fights the signs of foundation meltdown.
• Hides blemishes: dark circles and redness are concealed all day thanks to the continuous perfecting power.
• Stops shine: the formula provides an anti-shine action.
• Prevents rub-off: thanks to the anti-transfer formula.
• Combats signs of fatigue: preserves skin’s natural freshness and luminosity.
• Fights the signs of humidity.

My Verdict on L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation:

Finally, the L’Oreal Infallible range of base makeup has been launched in India. This range was however launched long back internationally, but it is seeing light in India now. I bought this around 2 weeks back and I think it will reach most parts of the country soon.  This range includes stick concealers, compact/pressed powder and foundation. I have purchased a foundation at the moment. I would like to try the compact too, but the concealer stick didn’t impress me much, primarily for the fact that only 3 shades –Light, Medium, and Dark are available in it!

For the foundation, about 8 shades have been launched here in India and I saw that most of them would be apt for Indian skin tones. I got the shade 120 Vanille/Vanilla and this is the starting shade in this range. For reference, I am NC 25 in MAC and I find it matches my skin tone fairly. I won’t call it a perfect match though.

I would also like to tell you that this foundation range in India is the “16 hours staying power claim” one.  Internationally, a variant with “24 hours staying power claim” is also available.

I find the formula is just slightly thick (and not flowy/runny) which reminds me a lot of MAC Studiofix Fluid.  I need a little effort to blend this well completely into my skin. I prefer to spritz my face with loads of moisture spray to ease out the blending part. Over a primer, it goes on better than without it. A foundation brush would be helpful for applying and blending it, but I like to use my fingers (clean and sanitised fingers) for it.

About the coverage it gives, I would say it is slightly more than medium coverage, but I won’t consider it a full coverage foundation. It covers my light spots and blemishes completely, but the darker spots still need light concealing. I prefer this foundation for my party makeups only as the coverage is a little heavier.

The foundation comes with spf 15 and has mild to light floral pleasant fragrance. I like the fact that it looks good in photographs.

As one of it major claim, the foundation does stay on for at least 7-8 hours easily and I didn’t require a touch up, as in, I didn’t see it fading away. However, if your skin is too oily, you may need some powder after a while. I have tried it for a maximum 10 hours of wear and my face still looked good.

The foundation claims that it will suit all skin types, but with my experience, I would say it would be ideal for combination-oily skin. The finish it gives is semi-matte, something I would prefer for summers. It does make my face look nice and fresh, but this is not hydrating and does not give dewy finish, so if you have dry skin, you will have to moisturise well to use it. Also, there are no shimmer/reflective particles in it.

Overall, it’s a nice foundation which I would prefer for formal occasions or for party makeup only. It would be ideal for you if you require a medium-full coverage foundation, which is long wear and if you have combination to oily skin.

Pros of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation:

  • Gives between medium-full coverage.
  • Around 8 shades have been launched in India and I saw that most of them would suit Indian skin tones well.
  • Great staying power. Stays fresh for at least 7-8 hours.
  • For all skin types, but ideal for combination to oily skin.
  • Gives semi-matte finish.
  • Never broke me out or clogged pores.
  • Photographs well (does not look bad in pictures).
  • Convenient to use packaging with pump dispenser.
  • Has SPF 15.
  • L’Oreal products are easily available across counters in India.

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation:

  • Needs some effort to blend it in completely.
  • You need a makeup remover to remove this off completely as just soap and water I feel are insufficient to remove this.
  • No ingredients list.
  • Slightly expensive.

good morning everyone :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: The foundation sounds super nice furrr… I wish they had done some cuter packaging for the price though :| But never mind. I like the medium to full foundations for parties… not a big fan of full coverage so this sort of fits the bill. :D

HI to IMBBians,
I have a querry, My facial skin is very oily and also sweats like anything..so no matter wht i do my face becomes much worst within an hour of application. My face colour turns atleast 2-3 shades darker than wht it is after using a face wash… After going thru IMBB i purchased MAC studio fix, the LAdy at d counter suggested NC 43 bt whn i told her dt my face becomes darker after 30 mints or so.. she gave me NC42.. saying dts d perfct match.. now whn i use it.. it looks a perfect match for 20-30 mints n thn darkens my face to make me luk tannd.. im now planning to buy a new product.. confuse between Bourjois mineral matte mousse/TBS mineral pwdr/Revlon mineral PWDR. Alsowht makes my face look dark…???..plz.plz help me im in desperate need of ur help..

Rati February 27, 2012 at 4:03 pm

Hi Bushra,

Welcome to IMBB. I suggest that you use a face primer and them apply your foundation. the primer acts as a base under the makeup. Not only it would help your foundation color stay true, t would also keep your make last long. Here are reviews of the primers covered on IMBB :)
