L’oreal Paris Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Smoothing Spritz -Review
Hello readers,
Well, I am really picky when it comes to hair products because I have realized that most of the products don’t really do anything for my frizzy hair. And since I started straightening it to tame it, I thought of getting myself a heat protecting spray to avoid damaging it further from the heat. This is the first time I am using a heat protecting spray, so here is my review. Hope you guys find it helpful.
Product Description:
The first Studio Line smoothing spritz with Silk Micro-Fibre specifically designed for use with straightening irons and blow dryers. Its formula soothes your hair, strand by strand, while protecting it from heat. Result: 24h smoothness without frizz while giving your hair a silky shine and touch.
Price:
25-26 AED for 200ml (which is roughly 360-380 INR)
1. Application: Spray 15cm away, on damp hair without forgetting the ends.
2. Drying: Start drying you hair with a blow dryer.
3. Straightening: Finish by combing hair, using a straightening iron or blow drying with a round brush.
My experience with L’oreal Paris Studio Silk and Gloss Hot Straight Smoothing Spritz :
My hair is thin, dry, wavy and frizzy.(phew! :P) I have used this both on dry hair as well as damp hair and as per the directions given I got the best results with damp hair of course. My hair was a little softer when used on damp hair.
I have also used it before straightening it with a blow dryer as well as a hair straightener. I spray it onto the paddle brush and then brush that part of hair. This is just to make sure it gets on my hair and not anywhere else. With a blow dryer however, my hair tends to frizz more. And even after using this, it was still frizzy. So basically this is a no-no for me with a blow dryer.
With the hair straightener, I’ve got comparatively good results. I skip the second step mentioned, and just let my damp hair air-dry for sometime after spraying this on. The result is frizz free (not completely though), soft and shiny hair. The shiny hair however does not last long, probably just a day or two. But I chose this product mainly to protect it from the heat and also because it controls frizz to some amount. The spritz has a decent citrus-y scent which stays on even after straightening it, which I like.
Pros of Paris Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Smoothing Spritz :
Controls frizz to some extent
- Budget friendly (compared to other heat protection sprays)
- Long shelf life( 2 years)
- Packaging
Cons of Paris Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Smoothing Spritz :
It does not manage frizz when used with a blow dryer.
Verdict: It works considerable well for my hair type, but not so sure about the softening part for thick wavy or curly hair.
Will I buy it again?
Yes, unless I find a product that controls my frizz completely.
