My experience with L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil- Rich Oil:

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Hope you are doing good. Since it is raining a lot lately and the weather is so humid my hair have been going mad with frizz. I had been searching for a good masque and serum to solve this problem for me. My hair are pretty thick, mostly wavy but a little curly at some parts, a little oiler at the scalp but super dry down below. I went for a trim recently and my hair stylist suggested me to use this new treatment from L’Oreal called the Mythic oil (and when I heard this name I was transported back to the Cleopatra age 😛 ) which contains a blend of argan and rice bran oil I immediately thought of trying this range but since I don’t use SLES shampoos anymore I ditched the shampoo and conditioner and got the Masque and the serum. Today I l be reviewing the serum for you guys and the masque will be coming up next too.
Before I start I need to say this, the smell of the serum is very luxurious. It makes you feel that you have applied something really nice in your hair so, I am in love with the smell of this ‘oil’.

I am calling it a serum since it does not really work as an oil and is to be used post hair wash or on dry hair to ease frizz and style as usual.

The consistency is more on the runnier side and it is very light and gets spread on the hair very easily. And I only use it on the length of my hair and not on the scalp.

I have been using this serum almost every day since the past couple of months and I have not been disappointed by it. I have used it on both damp and dry hair and I personally I feel it works a little better on dry hair for me. When I use it on damp hair, my waves are more defined and definitely less frizzy. It also imparts a healthy shine to my hair. I don’t usually blow dry but I did do it a couple of times and my hair was considerably easier to style and lot more manageable. I have almost waist length hair and I need only two pumps for them.
On dry hair, it works excellent as a detangler, smoothener and imparts good shine. My hair look moisturized and my waves look so defined which I am so so thankful to the mythic oil for. A major plus of mythic oil is that it does not weigh my hair down even when I use it continuously for three days straight.

The packaging is good and reminds me of the oriental times, the gold looks very classy to me 😀 and the pump dispenser works really well.
Also, so far I haven’t noticed much change in the texture or quality of my hair so I don’t know how far the argan oil and rice bran oil are working . May be with continuous use it might show some effect.

Overall, it is a very good option for people with dry frizzy hair since it is excellent serum. It is definitely pretty pricey but I don’t mind it because I finally found my HG serum. But do not except it to do much of anything else such as hair fall control or mend split ends as it is not actually an oil and does contains silicones.
