L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner Review

Hello friends!

Hope you are doing good! Today, I am reviewing the L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner.

L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner

This range was released by L’Oreal early this year and consists of:

  • Total Repair Extreme shampoo.
  • Total Repair Extreme Conditioner.
  • Total Repair Extreme Ultra-Concentrated Urgent Repair Care.
  • Total Repair Extreme Split Ends Double Serum.

Product Details from the L’Oreal Website:

Penetrates layers deep and repairs broken fibres.  When hair is extremely damaged, a series of external aggression can deteriorate the layers that compose the hair fibre. Total Repair Extreme works to penetrate these layers and helps repair split ends.  The advanced formula enriched with LAK 1000 and Ceramide deeply penetrates layers inside the hair fibre and helps repair broken fibres. Overall the hair fibre appears reconstructed and restored right to the tips, leaving it soft to the touch.

Directions For Use:

Apply after using Total Repair Extreme Shampoo. Leave on for 1-3 minutes, then rinse. For extreme repair, use with our TOTAL REPAIR EXTREME treatments.

Price:

CAD $4.99 (Price varies across stores) for 385 ml.

My Experience with L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner:

I have had some grey hair since quite a few years due to my hypothyroidism. So, I have to color my hair once in two months at least. Also, heat styling adds further damage to my hair. I had tried the L’Oreal Hair Expertise Total Repair Extreme Shampoo and really liked it. So, I wanted to try the corresponding conditioner too.

L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner

This range is meant for “Extremely Damaged/Over-processed Hair.” The conditioner claims to repair split ends and renew damaged hair. It contains lactic acid which apparently penetrates the layers of the hair to reconstruct the hair fibre, along with the ceramide component.

The conditioner comes in a white bottle with a red flip cap. The cap closes tightly and can be carried along while travelling, if you want to. The conditioner is white in color and smells really good! Not an overly strong fragrance, but a pleasant smell. The smell lasts on the hair for a day.

L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner

The consistency of the conditioner is thick and creamy. It spreads easily in the hair and conditions really well. I leave it on for a few minutes and then wash off with warm water. It does not leave any greasiness or residue on the scalp nor does it irritate the scalp. It also does not weigh down the hair, like some conditioners tend to do.

My main problem with my hair is the dryness and frizz. In spite of my scalp being very oily, my hair as such is dry and frizzy due to the hair coloring. My hair feels a lot smoother and almost frizz-free with this conditioner.  I love how smooth and shiny it makes my hair look! It stays like that for the entire day. I feel the frizz slightly increasing the next day.

L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner

The conditioner did not cause any additional hair fall. I do have a hair fall issue, but it is due to health conditions. I did not find this conditioner increasing the hair fall by any means.

I have used this conditioner along with the shampoo for over a month and find that my hair does feel more hydrated and soft than before. The frizz-free effect lasts only for a day, but hair does look and feel healthier than before.

Pros of L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner:

  • Thick and creamy conditioner spreads easily in the hair.
  • Leaves hair smooth and frizz free.
  • Keeps hair looking moisturized and healthy.
  • Does not cause hair fall or irritate the scalp.
  • Does not make hair greasy.
  • Smells good.
  • Does not weigh down hair.
  • Inexpensive.

Cons of L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Conditioner:

  • The smoothing effects last just for a day. Hair starts becoming frizzy again the next day.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

    1. Thanks so much, Kadambari! 🙂 Yes, this is the newer ‘extreme’ version of the Total Repair range. Was launched early this year, so hopefully should be coming to India soon! 🙂
