This is another mascara that I had picked up from the L’Oreal Voluminous range – this is also the most recent one and most talked about mascara as of now. Some of my favorite bloggers mentioned it quite a few times, hence I decided to buy it and see if it lives up to the hype. Continue to read on to more details about this mascara.

My Take on L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof Mascara:
My grouse about the last L’Oreal mascara that I tested was that it didn’t add enough volume to my lashes, but this one claims to add volume via a white color primer.
Packaging: Both the primer and the mascara are held in the end sections of a long submarine shaped (with dent in the mid section) silver tube. The mid section of the tube holds the two wands – curvaceous one for primer and the boat-shaped for mascara – I am not sure why there is a difference in the shape of the wands but both seem to work fine for me.
The primer wand does not pick enough product in one go and I have to dip my wand 2-3 times to properly coat my lashes. The mascara wand picks up the right amount of product every time except that a slight goop stays stuck to the end of the wand.
Texture: Both the primer and the mascara seem to have similar consistency except the former which has a bit of dry texture than latter and does not coat lashes that evenly.

Pigmentation: The primer adds white color to the lashes, but it did not appear as well covered as the picture on the cover shows it to be. Also, I am a bit iffy about the “adding volume to the lashes” part because even after I applied the mascara, I didn’t notice any drastic enhancement in the volume of my lashes.
This product made my lashes appear long and fuller, but I can achieve the same sans a primer, so its addition is a bit futile.
Wear Time: It wears well for an entire day and has no fallout whatsoever – that’s what I like about L’Oreal mascaras. Other lengthening and volumnizing mascaras that I have used tend to have fallout, some more than other but not this one. Also, it does not clump my lashes or leave a grimy residue behind and does not crumble after a few hours and accumulate under eyes.
Pros of L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof Mascara:
- Packaging houses both the primer and the mascara.
- Does add length and volume to the lashes.
- Has no fall out and does not crumble at the end of the day.
- Dries easily.
- Adds a good curl to the lashes.
- Sweat proof and waterproof.
- Does not crumble after a few hours.
- Easily available both in the US and India.
Cons of L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof Mascara:
- Primer did not add the desired volume to lashes.
- Same result can be achieved without a primer.
Would I Repurchase L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara Waterproof?
Not this particular mascara from this range because it did not live up the expectations; I guess I had really high hopes pinned to the primer and it failed me, hence I am a bit disappointed. Everyone might not concur with me in this regard.
