L’Oreal Wet Shine Stain – Princess Review

L’Oreal Wet Shine Stain – Princess Review

Hello beautiful ladies,

Yesterday, while I was reading reviews on IMBB, I saw Neetu’s review on L’Oreal Wet Shine Stain, and after seeing the pictures, I realized that even I have this, but I was unaware about what the product is called and I was too lazy to search that online. I bought this wet shine stain from L’Oreal around 6 months ago, and since then have used it a few times. I didn’t use it much, not because I didn’t like it, but I adored the product so much that I didn’t want to finish it off soon.  Before joining IMBB, I liked collecting eye shadows, but now somehow, my interest has shifted more towards lip products. So today, here I am with a lip product from L’Oreal called Princess.

Around $10, I bought it long ago with some other products and that too in a different currency, so I am not exactly sure about how much I paid for this.

Packaging:

The lip stain comes in a beautiful shiny golden tube which has a little transparent window just below the screw cap. The transparent section makes it easy to recognize the color. Its doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply.

Product Description:

Discover a stain that thinks it’s a gloss. Now hydration and shine meet lasting, lightweight color. Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain combines the power of a lip stain with lip-gloss luster. This next generation lip stain, formulated with a blend of light hydrating oils and concentrated pigments, delivers lasting color with a glossy finish. Packed with 30% water, Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain leaves lips soft, comfortable and hydrated for up to 6 hours.

My Take on L’Oreal Wet Shine Stain – Princess:

I came to know that these L’Oreal Wet Shine stains are dupes of YSL lip stains.  The YSL ones are pricey, these come as good alternatives.

Color: Just like the name of the product, Princess is a beautiful shade that is so beautiful that it can make any girl feel like a princess.  It is a coral shade with undertones of red, and thus neither appears to be exactly coral nor is it red.  The color is non shimmery and is perfect for everyday wear. It’s neither too bright nor too dull; it gives the perfect amount of color to the lips.

Texture: Texture wise, these stains are quite liquidy which helps it to spread properly and application is smooth.  On my lips, it was not streaky at all; it was completely smooth and blended in a single swipe as well as the second swipe.

Pigmentation: Princess is sufficiently pigmented, I wouldn’t say that it is very high on pigmentation, but two coats of the products are sufficient to get the actual color on lips. Even in one swipe, it does give a good color to the lips.

Staying Power:  The company claims that the stain gives 6 hour continuous hydration, or you may say that it stays up to 6 hours, which is kind of true. The color does not remain as intense after 6 hours, but as it’s a stain, it does leave a color on the lips, which stays for a long time. The color remains glossy for the few initial hours, after which the gloss disappears and the color looks matte. Although I am not very fond of matte colors since I feel matte doesn’t suit me much, but I must say that this particular color looks even more beautiful after losing its shine.

The only thing I am not happy is the scent of the product.  To me, it smells like cough syrup that I used to have when I was a kid. Although the smell is not too overpowering and disappears after a few minutes, I was not very happy with it when I smelt it for the first time.
