And the one thing that a woman cannot live without is a lipstick :-P. I got 3 new Ecostay lippies from Lotus since they have launched some new shades with a changed formula. I got “Rose rush”, “Plum kiss” and “Magenta mania”. So let’s start with plum kiss!

My Experience with Lotus Herbal Ecostay Long Lasting Lip Colour – Plum Kiss:
Packaging: The Lotus Herbals ecostay lipstick comes in a very pretty metallic pink box with the lipstick inside it. The lipstick further comes in a little cloth pouch which is shiny pink too. The packaging of the lipstick is really pretty and feminine. It comes in a glossy pink packaging which looks very classy and luxurious.
Although, it is not colour-coded, it has the name mentioned at the base. The cap closes with a click so no such flaws with the packaging. These lipsticks are very handy and fit anywhere be it the vanity or a clutch.
Shade: The shade “Plum kiss” is a very beautiful deep plum shade. It matches the exact shade of those juicy fresh plums that we love to munch on. I am glad that it stayed absolutely true to its name. It instantly brightens up my face and draws away attention from my imperfections on the face focusing on the lips. It is a lovely shade which is superversatile because it will suit all the age groups and skintones very well. I think this particular range has really good shades that can be added to a trousseau. This shade is great for evening wear for parties, for festive season and one of the must-haves for a bride during her wedding functions.
Consistency, pigmentation and finish: The consistency of the lipstick is not very creamy; hence, a lot of pressure has to be applied while using it for the first time. After a few uses, it does turn a bit creamy but not very smooth. Hence a lot of tugging is required. And due to this I cannot line out my lip lines perfectly which results into a shabby application. But I somehow manage to layer it on correctly. The pigmentation is really great as I just get the bold colour in just one swipe. But I layer it once more to increase the intensity. The pigmentation is great to cover pigmented lips too. The finish is super matte which makes the shade look even better. But I need to exfoliate my lips before I use this since it might look a bit patchy.
Staying power: The staying power of this lipstick is really good. It nicely stays on my lips for 5-6 hours without any food. It does transfer but not very much. It does not settle in fine lines or bleed even after food. When I munch on something, some colour gets ripped off from the middle portion of my lips. Hence a touchup after 5 hours would be a great option.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Ecostay Long Lasting Lip Colour – Plum Kiss:
• The lips have to be exfoliated before using this.
• The consistency is not that creamy and hence there is a lot of tugging and pulling of my lips during application.

I really love this shade since I am in love with plums and would totally enjoy using this up. But the texture stops me from getting these again. Do try these at the counter first and then make a choice!
