Lotus Herbals Orange Peel & Alpine Salt Whitening Skin Polisher

Lotus Herbals Orange Peel and Alpine Salt Whitening Skin Polisher Review

Ladies,
A few days ago I was out picking and deciding a face wash for my lovely troubled skin. I spotted this new tube in the lotus section of the store.

Lotus Herbals Pomegranate and Plum Energizing skin polisher claims to give radiant skin, wrinkle protection and is supposed to suit all skin type. Price of the product is Rs245 and is specially meant for sensitive dry skin.

Kiwi and grapes skin revitalizing skin polisher which is specially meant for sensitive skin. Kiwi skin polisher claims to tighten pores and gives gentle exfoliation.

These 2 were in tubs and finally I found something which was for my oily skin. It said orange and alpine salt whitening skin polisher. Now why my skin gets a special treatment and only this one is in a tube form? But anyways it was a help because I don’t have to put my hand in the tube over and over again and fear bacteria. 🙂

Skin Polishing is a mechanical technique of exfoliation used to create ultra-smooth skin in much the same way that a carpenter finishes a piece of fine furniture

Here is a very apt paragraph on skin polishing courtesy dailyglow.com

Skin polishing is simply a special type of exfoliation technique. Exfoliation is a process that removes the dead cells that accumulate on the surface of the skin. It thus allows new, healthy cells to come to the surface, which makes the skin, look smooth, soft, and glowing. The procedure typically uses special ingredients that attempt to get a more even effect all over the skin, and may combine both types of exfoliation. For example, it may use special crystals, which will be followed by a chemical exfoliant. In addition, there will often be some kind of miniaturization and toning performed as part of the procedure

Rids article on skin polishing at home here:

There are many benefits to a body scrub or polish. A body scrub will exfoliate your skin, sloughing off dead skin cells and rubbing away hard and flaky skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. Scrub or polishing products usually include an oily base which moisturises and soothes your skin as it is scrubbed.

The tube I purchased was at a price of 195.

My take on the lotus herbals orange peel and alpine white skin polisher:

After a week of using this polish I will give it an average rating for the reasons below.

Why buy lotus herbals orange peel and alpine white skin polisher

• It reduces the pore size. My skin does have a considerable pore size. This reduced them after every time I used it.
• The smell. When I opened the tube for the first time what I found what an orange peel smells like.
• The granules. The granules are harsh. I won’t say they are very harsh but they are the sort of granules you won’t have to apply much pressure on you face to scrub it. With less pressure too they will do their job
• Quantity and price. For 195 I think it’s a fair enough price as the tube is thicker width wise than most of the other lotus herbals face washes tubes.
• Variants. There is one for oily , dry, and sensitive skin. So we all can pick something which suits us perfectly.
• The mere mention of orange peel and alpine salt sounded exotic.
• Strips the face of nicely of dirt and the skin does not feel dry.
• Complete list of ingredients has been mentioned on the pack.
• Lotus is available all over.

Why not buy lotus herbals orange peel and alpine salt skin polisher

• Firstly it does not live up to the claim of being a whitening skin polish. I am wheatish skin tone and any whitening effect on my skin can be easily seen, this did not do anything.
• After one weeks of usage it has done nothing dramatically different for my skin which oranges and alpine salt are supposed to do for your skin. Just another face polisher on the block.
• Maybe the other variants of this polisher give better results.
• It did not help me clear my blemishes, post acne marks or not even lighten them.
• I had high expectations of it because it had orange peel extract. Something which is supposed to help a lot with blemish lightening

Rating of 2.5 on 5!

  1. nice review Fly Girl. And even if it dosent work, Lotus is in the affordable I-wont-feel-too-guilty price range. The walnut scrub is a nice option.

  6. u know, i use a polish/scrub i made myself using dried orange, lemon peel and apricot and turmeric powder. and it made my skin lighter, and smoother with continuous use…you all should try making it at home! and oh..it also helped in clearing up my skin and lightened dark spots…it’s very easy to make and lasts a lot too (but that, ofcourse, depends on how much u make and frequently u use). 😀

  7. It sounds exotic..something i might hv picked up but since it doesn’t do anything great I’ll skip it. I already have quite a few unfinished scrubs with me. The Biotique papaya one takes AGES to finish!

  8. Thnx Fly Girl! lovely review! I got this free when I purchased lotus products sometime back. So i can use n finish it off! 🙂
