Lotus Herbals recently launched their own matte lipsticks to join the matte lips bandwagon. I bought a lot of shades as I love matte lipsticks. Today’s review will be on the shade “Rouge Allure,” which is a very pretty pink shade. Let’s get into the review now!

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Rouge Allure Pure Colors Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a very boring golden packaging. The cap fits snugly and with a nice click. The bullet is gold in colour. The shade name and number are mentioned on a sticker attached at the bottom. Overall, this lipstick is travel friendly and compact.
Color and Pigmentation: “Rouge Allure” is a nice girly pink shade. It is a shade that’s very close to “Melon Flirt,” but this one is slightly warmer and is a tad bit lighter. It suits my skin tone very well. It is a very wearable shade, perfect for everyday wear. It is nicely pigmented, you just need 2-3 swipes to get a nice shade on the lips.
Texture: This lipstick is the most comfortable matte lipstick, but I must say it isn’t 100% matte. It is kind of like satin matte. Some shades are more matte than others in this range. This goes on very smoothly on the lips and doesn’t dry out the lips even after hours of wear. It has a gel matte texture and not powder matte which is the kind of matte lipsticks I love.
Staying Power: It stays on for 5-6 hours on my lips. It does fade a bit when you eat or drink something. You might need touch ups after every 4 hours. After like about 4 hours, it starts to settles in the fine lines on the lips. To avoid this, you can exfoliate the lips prior to the application. But this is a very forgiving matte lipstick.

- Goes on very smoothly, doesn’t dry out the lips.

- Suits almost all skin tones.
- Very forgiving matte lipstick.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Rouge Allure Pure Colors Matte Lipstick:
- It settles in the fine lines of the lips after 4-5 hours.
- Not 100% matte lipstick.
