Lotus Herbals YOUTHRx Anti Ageing Transforming Crème Review

Lately, I’ve started digging into anti – ageing products and that’s because I’m already into my mid-twenties. I remember reading somewhere that Korean girls start their anti-ageing treatments right at the moment they hit their twenties. Though I don’t have porcelain-like clear skin like the Koreans, yet I can at least try making my skin look as beautiful as possible so that I don’t have to hide behind tons of foundation all the time. So today, I thought of reviewing this cream for you all that my bestie recommended to me a month ago. After using the cream for a little more than three weeks, I’m guessing I’ll be able to do full justice to it. So let’s see how this one turned out.

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Youth Rx Anti Ageing Transforming Crème:

The cream comes in a golden tub with a purple lid. The tub has the product name and other details printed on it in purple. The tub closes tightly and there’s no product leakage or spillage. There’s an outer packaging as well. The cream tub is packed in a beautiful, glossy golden carton which has purple hints here and there which makes the packaging look really pretty and I love the way it sits on my dresser. The only problem is that there are tons of claims about the product on the carton but there’s no complete list of ingredients mentioned, which I feel is a must for skincare products. Further I’m not a fan of the tub packaging as one needs to dip her fingers into it, which is not very hygienic. A tube packaging would’ve been better I feel.

The cream has a beautifullllllll mild floral fragrance which I really enjoy and many a times I just open the tub to catch a whiff of it. The texture of the cream is semi-thick with a very light pink colour. It spreads nicely on my face without leaving any white cast. I have a combination skin with an oily t-zone in the summers and it takes a little while to get absorbed. I apply it in the morning post a shower when my skin is a little moist and that helps the cream to seep in well and lock in the moisture. Once it’s absorbed, I carry on with my usual base for daily wear which comprises of a BB cream or powder foundation with some kohl and lipstick.

Once the cream sets it doesn’t really make my skin(t-zone) oily and the SPF 25 in it is an added benefit as I can skip my sunscreen if I want to. This cream would be good enough for dry skinned girls as well who are on the lookout for a non greasy moisturiser for the day time but for oily skinned girls this might get a bit greasy for the summers. The cream claimed that it would visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles in 7 days. Well, as of now I obviously don’t have fine lines and wrinkles so I really wouldn’t be able to comment on that but what I did notice was a marked difference in my skin with regular usage. My skin seemed to be recovering from the tan it experienced in the harsh summers and it appeared a lot brighter and livelier than before. In fact one day when my mom came back home she even asked me if I had got a facial done recently and that’s the time when I was assured that the cream is really working. So yayyyyy for that.

Summing up the pros and cons,

Pros of Lotus Herbals Youth Rx Anti Ageing Transforming Crème:

• Pretty packaging.
• Soothing fragrance.
• Spreads well without leaving any unnatural cast.
• Get absorbed well without causing any oil build up on the surface of the skin.
• Has SPF 25.
• Would be good for dry skinned women too.
• Added a glow to my skin with daily usage and helped quite a lot in my tan removal.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Youth Rx Anti Ageing Transforming Crème:

• Complete list of ingredients not mentioned anywhere in the packaging.
• I would have loved a tube packaging instead of the tub packaging as that would be more hygienic.
• May not suit girls with overtly oily skin.

Overall I’m really impressed with the cream and I’m ready to overlook the minor cons for the benefits that it provides. I’ve already started using the night cream from the range too and would review it soon.
