My Experience with Lotus Makeup Pretty Plum Ecostay Long Lasting Lip Colour:

The lipstick comes in a pinkish cardboard packaging, which bears all the details like product description, shade number and name, shelf life, etc. on it. This outer cardboard packaging is quite strong. Inside this pink carton comes a beautiful rose gold lipstick tube wrapped in a pretty satiny pink pouch. The packaging is so beautiful, girly and luxurious as well. This long and slender lipstick tube has a mirror finish. The lipstick body is not colour-coded so I need to check at its base for the shade name, but I do not consider it as a flaw because I am already in love with the packaging. This cap fits securely making a loud click and never come off while carrying around. The shape of the lipstick bullet is a little different and I prefer applying it using a brush rather than directly from the bullet. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

The shade “Pretty Plum” is a nice deep plum shade. I do not own many plum shades. Being a lipstick junkie, I wanted to add this shade also to my stash. This shade goes so well with my skin tone. It looks so bright and fresh on my lips. It will flatter all Indian skin tones. This surely is a gorgeous wintery shade. This is not an every day shade but it is a good option for parties. I was glad to see that there are no shimmers in this lipstick. It looks velvety initially and sets to a nice matte finish after some time. The pigmentation of the lipstick is average. It requires multiple swipes to make the color intense and hides pigmented lips very easily. The color is easily buildable and it does not feel heavy even upon layering. The lipstick comes with SPF-20 that makes it perfect for wearing under the sun.

The texture of the lipstick is nice. The texture is soft and smooth but not very creamy or buttery smooth. Hence, it drags a little on the lips sometimes. So, I always prefer to apply a lip balm underneath. Exfoliation is definitely mandatory before application as the lipstick tends to cling to the dry patches of the lips and highlights them. But this is the case with almost all matte lip colors. The color looks even and never gets patchy. The lipstick does not transfer much. The formula of the lipstick is quite moisturizing initially, but my lips become dry after some time of application. I feel that it does not provide any hydration to the lips.

Also, my lips start to feel dry after a meal and I need a lip balm to keep my lips moisturized and nourished. The brand claims the lipstick is 100% vegetarian. It has no significant smell, so it will not bother those with sensitive noses. The formula is feathery light and feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick or waxy texture. It feels ultra light even upon layering. The lipstick does not bleed or smudge usually, but I have observed a little smudging from the corners of the lips after a full meal.

The lipstick lasts on my lips for some 5-6 hours with constant sipping. It survives light meals with a little fading from the inner corners of the lips. So, it requires touch-ups after meals. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick does not stain and the color can be taken off easily even with a wipe. Overall, I really like this shade, as it is quite different for me from those usual pinks, reds and corals.
