Lush Aqua Marina Cleanser Review

Lush Aqua Marina Cleanser
While traveling back to Pune from Mumbai, I convinced my hubby for a short visit to Lush store. He agreed on only one condition that the visit should be really short (only 15 mins) & I was not allowed to visit other shops in the mall 🙁 . So we went to Inorbit mall Vashi.

I wanted to buy their solid shampoo bar ‘New’ which I bought in 1 min. Rest of the 14 mins I explored the shop. The SA showed me this aqua marina cleanser & told me that it will remove the tan & make the skin softer & brighter. I tried it on my hand & the effect was great. After testing & smelling some more products I ended up buying this cleanser & cup cake mask. My hubby was in so much hurry that he paid the bill without arguing about this extra shopping 🙂

What LUSH says about Aqua marina cleanser

Skin-softening seaweed cleansing wash. Aqua Marina is a calming but effective cleanser and a joy to use. Like a pink mousse wrapped in seaweed, it feels so soft and wobbly that you’ll want to play with it, rather than clean your face with it. Smooth it on, rinse it off and your face feels smooth, smells sweet and looks brighter. It has calamine and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin, especially when you’ve been caught by the sun or the wind. The kaolin cleanses deeply and tightens your skin a little. Immediate result: smoother, softer and firmer skin straight away. Long term result: using Aqua Marina will help to get rid of your skin’s toxins and protect it from the wear and tear of daily life.

Cost 585 rupees for 100 gms

how to use
After making paste with water.

It comes in typical black lush container. It doesn’t look as cute as shown on website when you get it because they cut the roll & stuff it in the container. It smells like calamine + some fishy smell (not like bad fishy smell).I like the smell that linger on my skin after washing my face with it. Aqua marina fulfills all the claims made by lush. Just after washing my face 1st time I could see the change. My face was baby soft & brighter & really smelling sweet. I’m using it twice a day since 1 month & am more than happy. It has removed the tanning and hyper pigmentation (which I got during pregnancy). My complexion is improved & skin is having healthy glow.

Pros of lush aqua marina cleanser

• It makes the skin baby soft
• It really removes the tan & makes the skin brighter & fairer.
• The smell is really sweet & that linger on for long time.
• It gives instant glow to the tired skin.
• It doesn’t dry out the skin. This is cleanser is for all skin types. My skin is oily & it balances the oil production without drying it.
• It is good for sensitive skin & sooth irritated skin.
• It doesn’t create a mess like some other lush cleansers (dark angels)

Cons of lush aqua marina cleanser

• Like most of the other lush cleanser it doesn’t remove the make up. You have to remove it with make up remover and then wash your face with it. Hence I use it at morning when there is no make up & at night after cleansing my face with fabindia lavender cleansing milk.
• I like its fishy sweet smell very much but some people may not like it.

My verdict

This is my savior as it has removed all my pregnancy induced pigmentation & made my skin healthy & glowing. It’s my most favorite of lush product. It’s little bit costly but 100 gm will last you for around 2-3 months .I recommend you ladies to give it a try. At least just check it out next time when you’ll be in lush store.

Rating- 4.5\5, I removed 0.5 because it doesn’t remove makeup.

Will I buy it again?
Yes! Yes!! Yes!!

I use almond oil/olive oil to remove makeup..does this suck up the oil while cleaning? or do i have to use a different cleanser and then this?

You won’t need to use different cleanser after removing makeup with oil. It sucks the oil. only thing it doesn’t remove is make up.

Fishy smell may be a drawback :doctor: But anti pigmentation would be great!

Hi,

I recently bought Lush’s Aqua Marina. The problem is, once you apply the soap and wash it, it doesn’t go!!! I can notice a thin film of white layer on my skin. Then I have to use another face wash to remove this layer. Any idea on how to completely remove the layer without using other products?
