M.A.C. Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette: Amberluxe Review

Today, I have come with the review of a lovely product that I bought thinking,it would be a must have this wedding season! With so many parties and functions to attend, we must have one versatile product —read eye shadow palette that complements a variety of looks. It can transform you into a sweet shy debutante. To a glowing young bride…a sultry Indian beauty and even a Glamorous Diva!! The product is the MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Eye Palette in Amberluxe, from their permanent collection.Let’s see if it is worth the hype.

Price:$40 for 4gm

Product Claims:Five complementary shades that glide on and blend beautifully for infinite day-to-night looks: white, yellow gold, bronze, peachy orange, and dark brown. Matte to highly pearlized finish

My Experience with M.A.C. Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette Amberluxe:

This eye shadow palette comes in a standard Mac Palette square, much Like the Bobbi Brown Shimmer bricks. The packaging is nothing great to write home about. It is very average. It has a transparent plastic lid with Mac Label on it .This palette does not come with any mirror or brushes.It would have been great had they supplied a mirror and a handy brush with this palette. But well, MAC never does that.

Coming to the color selection, this palette has a harmonized selection of glittery Amber-esque gold shades. These colors are absolutely perfect for party wear and especially ethnic party wear. The would complement hands down all ethnic outfits as the gold, bronze and orange are like staple eye shadow colors!!Another great point is that, these shades would complement all skin tones.

The colors of this palette are as follows:

Amberluxe -1 it’s a white gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted finish. Applied dry, it was sheer, and when applied damp, it was fully opaque.
Amberluxe-2 It’s a light-medium, yellow gold with a pearly sheen. Applied dry, it was sheer, and it was mostly opaque after applying it with a dampened brush. The texture was a bit powdery.
Amberluxe -3 is described as a “bronze.” It’s a brightened, coppery brown with a pearly sheen. It is my favorite of all the shades in this palette as it is very versatile.
Amberluxe -4 it’s a sparkling, medium orange with a glittery finish. Its texture is crumbly and it is very prone to fall out during application. It was definitely the black sheep of the palette. HATE it!
Amberluxe -5 it’s a dark brown with subtle, neutral-to-cool undertones with a satin finish. The texture was stiffer and difficult to blend.

The colors have really fine milled glitter dust and catch light beautifully! You are sure to shine in the crowd with these shades!! But there is a catch and a really BIG one at that. The shimmer particles are just all over the place, on your eyelids, lips, cheeks…nose!!I did not expect this from MAC!!

The pigmentation is meh. This eye shadow palette can be used both wet and dry and I must tell you the dry application is powdery and not well pigmented at all!! To get a decent color out of this one, you HAVE to use a wet brush.
The eye shadows stay for good 8-9 hours but with a good eye shadow primer only. There is creasing towards the end.

 

Pros of M.A.C. Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette Amberluxe

• Buttery-soft creamy eye shadows
• Excellent shade selection
• Long staying with a good eye primer

Cons of M.A.C. Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette Amberluxe:

• Definitely Pricey
• Lot of shimmer fallout
• Pigmentation is poor on dry application. Wet application is a must.

Final Verdict:Well this is a surely expensive palette and for me it does not meet the mark. I would not be recommending it to anyone. Buy at your own risk!!
