MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush

mac 187 brush review

Claims : A large full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of face powder or pigments. Use to create soft layers or add textures. Made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibres.

Price : Rs 2,550

After my failed attempts at finding a perfect duo fibre brush, I finally decided to pick up the “legendary” MAC 187 duo fibre brush. And boy! I am impressed.

If there is one face brush that you want to pick from MAC, ย pick up MAC 187. You can use it for :

  • Getting a flawless airbrushed look by using a stippling motion. Just as shown HERE
  • As a regular foundation brush for all your cream and liquid foundations.
  • For cream blushes.
  • For loose or compact powders.
  • For applying powder blushes, especially the super pigmented blushes..the ones can easily make you look like a clown- use MAC187. It sheers out the blushes , gives you a nice flush on cheeks and you can build up the color according to your preference.

Some more awesomeness about MAC 187

  • It does not bleed.
  • It does not shed bristles
  • It is not super fluffy- just the right thickness.
  • It feels super soft.
It is that fuzzy wuzzy cute brush that everyone must have in their makeup stash. And trust me, this is my 4th Stippling brush in last 2 years and nothing has been more impressive than THE MAC 187.
I personally feel that the brush is quite expensive but good brushes stay with you for years to come. I’d say this would be a good investment.

check this : http://makeupandbeauty.com/flawless-face-tutorial/

200 % works. ๐Ÿ™‚

for blushes : just pick the blush with the tips, pat pat on cheeks and swirl. The brush makes it easy. ๐Ÿ™‚

This brush’s fame is undoubtable and well deserved. I have foundation brushes and stippling ones are the best…still I only feel right applying my foundations with sponges :yikes:

Rati November 23, 2011 at 3:33 pm

With me was opposite :woot: :woot: :woot: first I loved my fingers, then brushes and now sponges, i think sponge stay more true to my skin texture, that is very irregular btw. Have you ever tried the beauty blender? it is impossible is just more than perfect  …. :jog: :jog: :jog: :jog: :jog:

Hi Rati great review as usual. (How does one take such good pics of a Brush, of all things??!!)
And the brush looks cuuute ๐Ÿ™‚ On my MAC wish list too…
2550 for a brush. It is more expensive than the foundation ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

Preetha November 23, 2011 at 4:23 pm

Reply

Rati November 23, 2011 at 4:25 pm

yeah even though you expect mac to be expensive, this brush does cross the line. Bt this would stay with you for years and years so that way it would be worth spending on it. ๐Ÿ™‚ thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ramya November 23, 2011 at 4:43 pm

Yes thats what I felt; even for a MAC brush its expensive. But it definitely sounds like a must have from what u say abt it. :haanji: :haanji: :haanji: And as u say brushes are very important (as I’m learning these days). So… 217 for eyes and this one for face are on my list now. Will that be good for a beginner? ?:)

Reply

Rati November 23, 2011 at 5:08 pm

oh yes , these are pretty good for beginners. ๐Ÿ˜€
