MAC Eyeshadow Omega (Rs 720):

  • Finish : Matte
  • Color : soft muted beige taupe / a greyish toned light brown
  • Texture : very smooth and even.
  • Longevity : lasts all day long when applied on an eyeshadow primer.
  • Pigmentation : pigmented , not chalky and buildable. Does not crease or fade.
  • Works best as : an all over lid color, a transitional color or blending the eyeshadows
  • Skin Tones : light skin tones
  • Fragrance : NA
  • Do I like It? It’s okay. Omega is not a must have in my list of MAC eyeshadows. If you have dark eyelid problems, it’s best to stay away from this. Not the most flattering color. It barely does anything for my skin tone. I prefer Soft Brown over Omega any day.
  • Rating : 3/5

MAC Eyeshadow Seedy Pearl  (Rs 720): Used HERE as well.

  • Finish : Frost
  • Color : chilled lavender pink / a frosty cool toned pink with golden sheen. Shimmery not glittery.
  • Texture :smooth , slightly powdery
  • Longevity : does not stay pout very well. Specially when I use it in the inner corner, it has a tendency to disappear. 😐 You wouldn’t notice it much in the pics below as well, which were taken almost an hour after the application.
  • Pigmentation : very pigmented
  • Goes Best With : cool toned eyeshadows
  • Skin Tones : all skin tones but works best on fair skin tones as an all over wash of color
  • Fragrance : NA
  • Do I like It? I am not a pink eyeshadow user anyway so it barely finds light of day for me. But when I am using purples on lids, I like to use seedy pearl along with as opposed to the regular pale gold highlighters. It is more of a personal preference eyeshadow. Not happy with the staying power though. Stays better on the lid, the sheen however does not stay put too well even if the color does.

MAC Eyeshadow Shadowy Lady (Rs 720) : Used in crease HERE

  • Finish : Matte
  • Color : Blackened Plum
  • Texture : smooth but pain to blend. It sometimes looks patchy and weird. (the swatch below also looks patchy)
  • Longevity : 5-6 hours. Has a tendency to fade.
  • Pigmentation : sheer to buildable
  • Goes Best With : deep purple, brown, blacks. Looks nice as a crease color or can be used to create a full on smokey eye.Be ready to put in a bit of time and effort at blending.
  • Skin Tones : all skin tones
  • Fragrance : NA
  • Do I like It? I most of the time not end up using it because it takes time to blend but i’d say that it gives a nice break from the regular browns and blacks. The color on its own is quite unique.

 MAC Blush Mocha (Rs 1100):

  • Finish : Matte
  • Color : Soft Plum Pink / a dusty rose pink
  • Texture : super smooth
  • Longevity : 5 + hours
  • Pigmentation : pigmented and buildable. It give your less room to make mistakes unlike some blushes like Fever or Frankly Scarlet.  It requires a bit of blending you’d love the color it gradually builds up on cheeks.
  • Goes Best With : pink / plum lipsticks
  • Skin Tones : light to medium. It’s such a beautiful color for most Indian skin tones. I don’t know but it somehow adds that freshness and warmth at the same time to the skin.
  • Fragrance : NA
  • Do I like It? LOVVEE this blush. It’s such a great day time blush and especially for winters, when you can that natural flush of color, I feel Mocha totally fits the bill.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color Warm Beige (Rs 1390) :

  • Finish : creamy matte
  • Color : a warm beige. An excellent n*de color that would not wash out color for most skin tones
  • Texture : controlled creamy. Can accentuate the fine lines and dryness on lips. best used after using a good lip scrub.
  • Longevity : 4+ hours
  • Pigmentation : super pigmented.
  • Goes Best With : everyday light makeup as seen HERE or dark eye makeup as seen below
  • Skin Tones : would work with whole lot of warm skin skin tones
  • Fragrance : almost negligible
  • Do I like It? Absolutely love it. It is less red than the N*de 18 from Bobbi Brown so depending on my mood, I have been switching between these two neutral shades.
  • Rating : 4.8/5

And here’s today’s makeup. I kinda forgot about it but since I am doing reviews regularly again, I thought I’d bring the Today’s Makeup  feature back. 🙂 For those of you who are new on IMBB, ‘Today’s Makeup‘ was a feature I introduced on IMBB back in 2012 but it kinda got lost midway. A lot of you always ask about makeup in my outfit posts, I’d try to add a product pic as much as I can. 🙂

Face : Clarins Primer, Lotus Tinted Moisturser, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, MAC Blush Mocha

Eyes : Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black, MAC eyeshadow omega (all over the lid), MAC Seedy Pearl (inner corners),MAC Shadowy Lady (used very softly over the liner and in crease), Loral million lashes mascara, Lotus Kajal

Lips : Bobbi Brown Lipstick Warm Beige

todays makeup rati 2013

Here is the eye makeup look I created. Although I feel that the black eyeliner has kinda overtaken the deep purply feel of Shadowy Lady, but it still softens the looks and makes black look a less harsher. The problem actually lies with the eyeshadow itself It does not add that pop of color that you’d prefer from an eyeshadow this dark.  On brow bone is Vanilla Eyeshadow (review next time), all over the lid is omega for just a wash of color all over and seedy pearl is used on the inner corners. A light shimmery pink is a nice change from the regular pale golds and champagnes. Plus it compliments the deep purple used on the eyes.
