MAC Carbon Eyeshadow Review, Swatches
Price : Rs 680 for refill and Rs 900 for pan.
MAC describes carbon eyeshadow as Intense matte black.
When you think of “Carbon” , you think of intense charcoal black. This one does no justice to its name.
According to me :
- It’s a medium matte black eyeshadow, which is nice for daily wear.
- It does not crease and works great as an eye liner. The staying power is awesome.
- You can do soft day time smokey eyes with carbon.
- You can use it to smudge your kajal and the medium pigmentation helps in getting that soft smoked out look on your lower lash line.
- Does not have even a teeny bit of fall out.
- It is also one of the saddest black eyeshadow I have ever used. It goes on patchy, is difficult to blend and building up the colour is quite a pain.
It is definitely one of my regret buys. Even the Coastal Scents 88 palette black eyeshadow is better than Carbon. It just looks pretty in pan and that’s about it. Very difficult to work with on lids.

For the price you pay for it, it is definitely not worth it. It’s not even true intense matte black, it’s sort of darkish gray moving towards black. Bad pigmentation!

( I thought this would be THE black and it turned out to be such a disappointment. How about blacktied?
Inglot black is not too shabby either..
Seeing the eye shadow in pan, I was looking forward to the review, but the swatches tells all, m not impressed !!

Nice review Rati…last week I bought a black VOV mono shadow-I was amazed at 125 bucks I could get such a deeply pigmented jet black shadow-and with some primer it stays all day!!!! :inlove:

Well I was using an angled brush-and it was working fine-I find it tightly packed-maybe they have improved the product-coz I got another beautiful shade of brown with mild shimmers-that also was working as good as Maybelline quads :struggle: :struggle:

I’m so glad I did not buy this! One would expect it to be good (being MAC) but this is such a disappointment. I have a Jordana eyeshadow single in matte black. I had wanted to purchase NYX matte black after reading a lot of good reviews about it but it ws out of stock so I settled for Jordana. I haven’t used it that often so don’t know how it blends but its pretty dark!

yeah jinal. You know i wa sto pick that only but the MUAs at mac were carbon , carbon and now i so regret not picking up black ties. it’s blacker than this one. I think it has ahint of shimmer in it though.
