Thank you for the awesome comments on my very first review! It is really encouraging! Today, I’m going to review the MAC Cremesheen Glass in “Double Dare.” This is my first ever MAC lip product. This was also gifted to me by my sister. 😀 Yes, I’m lucky!! 😀 😛 Generally lip colors don’t last for a very long time on my lips. As a result, I have to touch up constantly throughout the day. Lipsticks last more than lip glosses, so I personally prefer wearing lipsticks, but this product is an exception. I absolutely love wearing it.
A lip finish that fuses the creamy, sheen-filled nature of Cremesheen Lipstick with the shine of MAC Lip glass. Soft, comfortable, non-sticky. Applies with a doe-foot applicator. Use as a top layer to its namesake Lipstick or on its own.
Around Rs. 1400 for 2.4 ml / 0.08 US fl oz.
My Take on MAC Cremesheen Glass in Double Dare:
Sadly, I have thrown away the paper package it came in. So, I’m able to mention the ingredients here. About the packaging, it comes in a transparent plastic tube. It is a quite simple tube but looks very sleek. The color seen through the tube matches the actual color of the product. The doe foot applicator of the tube applies the gloss pretty evenly. Now, coming to the product itself, it is a beautiful shade of coral. It is a very bright shade, so the name “Double Dare” I guess. It looks quite thick and sticky, but goes on smoothly on the lips. It requires absolutely no effort in applying. Although, it looks daring and bright in the tube, it’s quite an easy, wearable coral. It is not a totally opaque color, but it is still vibrant with just two coats. It looks beautiful too when applied over a lipstick.
The MAC cremesheen glass is quite moisturizing and absolutely non-sticky. It gives a mirror gloss effect without any shimmer. It has a moderate staying power on my lips. I generally apply it on its own to tone down the color for daily wear. The glossy effect kind of starts to wear off after 2-3 hours and after that it looks like a glossy lipstick. It fades out quite evenly and after about 3.5 to 4 hours, there’s just a hint of color left on my lips. It stays on more than 5 hours if applied over a lipstick. It even stays longer on my lips than most lipsticks. On the other hand, on my sister’s lips, a single coat without any lipstick underneath lasts perfectly for more than 6 hours.
The main thing I love about this lip gloss is its scent. Oh my God, I just love it!!!
Pros of MAC Cremesheen Glass in Double Dare:
- Has a decent staying power.
- It’s non-sticky and moisturizing.
- It has a medium-sheer coverage.
- Smells heavenly!
- Lovely coral shade which would go on all Indian skin tones.
- Doesn’t settle in fine lines.
- Doesn’t bleed.
Cons of MAC Cremesheen Glass in Double Dare:
- It is quite pricey (MAC duh!!)
- Not available in all cities.
It has an almost permanent place in my hand bag. I keep reaching out to it all the time. It can go with every look depending upon its application. I would have re-purchased this shade and other shades from this range if not for the price. It anyways would last me a while. Girls with an obsession for bright colors should definitely try this out! Even gals afraid of bright shades can wear this as a single coat which also looks equally amazing. It has all the qualities of a good lip gloss and makes the lip look really juicy and full.
