“Ultra-smooth, Fluidline’s gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. ”
MAC describes it as “deep smoked violet with red pearl”.
Rs.1000 for 3 g.
MAC has 6 fluidlines from their permanent line and most of them have been reveiwed. Take a look:
- Blitz & Glitz
- Rich Ground (Review coming soon!)
- Waveline (Hunting for this one!)
I have a tiny secret to share, I am loving MAC ( all thanks to IMBB, no this is not the secret). I dont usually keep my makeup in cartons for lack of time to dress up and lack of space as well. But off late I have been storing all my MAC stuff in their black cartons they come in . I think I do it out of some respect for the brand and nothing else, but it does take up a lot of space
So much for the secret, coming to the gorgeous aubergine shade of fluidline I got myself, any one who is into eye makeup will love this , moreover we all love gel liners and when MAC has 6 of them I think if we buy all of them, we are sorted in terms of basic eye liner colors.
I love the glass packaging they have which could be a little heavy though. The SA at Pune also told me not to keep them open for fear of drying them up. So far so good, my Blitz and glitz one is also going strong.
The liner has this pearly sheen to it and it is not matte. You could see some red undertones to it (red pearly sheen I reckon) but overall it is not a matte. The liner is very pigmented but it is a lighter purple as in it is not that black-purple kind of liner you would want to outline and define your eyes. For me this is more like a highlight to the eyes rather than a liner,I would this shade as a shadow as well.
The color would show up better on brighter skin around the eyes. Say, no dark circles or even if you has lighter eyes/hazel/brown eyes or wore lens of the same, this would look beautiful. Black eyes would absorb a lot of the purple making it look lighter .
The texture of course is buttery and creamy, take little at a time. I personally have to layer this liner up to show up, one stroke would be quite subtle for my eyes and complexion. You would have to pack it up step by step for making it look a deeper purple, perhaps my only “cringe” factor.
Needless to say, you need a brush of your choice for this one, I like bolder eye liners hence use this with a flat brush, you could also play it down with a thin eye liner brush.
Apart from that, I recommend this liner to everyone who likes a subtle play of colors on their lids, nothing black or dark.It is great for office if you apply it lightly as this would give you a pop of color and stay all day long after setting quickly.
If you like lighter purples with sheen that add a light pop of color, then this purple is for you. If you like matte aubergines/purple then you might want to play up/build this one to your taste. You can rest assured at the texture and staying power front for this beauty.MAC fluidlines are must-haves. Don’t you just love the names too?
