Here’s another shade from the “Modern Twist Kajal Liner” range by MAC – the shade that I am reviewing in this post is called “Groundbreaker.” Read on further for more details.

My Experience with MAC Groundbreaker Modern Twist Kajal Liner:
The liner comes in a twist-up pencil form which does not twist back, so you have to be careful about how much you twist up for application each time. The outer paper carton has all the details about the product. The bottom has a color-coded band which is bronze-brown in this case, to help find out from the stash. The cap shuts with a click and is hence very much travel friendly.
The texture is smooth and soft but does not crumble during application on the lid or waterline. It does not irritate my sensitive eyes and glides smoothly on the lids and waterline without tugging or pulling. Though there are shimmers in the shade, it is very much safe on the waterline. I do not wear contact lenses, so I would not comment on that. It is super pigmented and one stroke gives enough color; there is no need to swipe multiple times.
The shade “Groundbreaker” is described as a warm rich bronze-y brown, which is a true description of the color. I have a weakness for such shades and it looks wonderful on the waterline as well as on the lid. If you wish to smudge it a bit, you have to do it immediately; once set – it is not going to move a bit. The velvety texture adds to the beauty of the color and this is a must-have shade for those who like such bronzey eye shades.
Without any base, this liner stayed on my waterline for more than 6 hours – no fading, no smudging. On the lids, it stays till it is removed with a makeup remover. I like it more as a liner, but on days when I want a “smoked out” look, I would apply it on the lower lash line and smudge it with a pencil brush.
