Now MAC makes the most amazing lipsticks as we all know and what they have done now is even better because they have converted their lipstick shades to lip glosses as well! Why, you ask? It contains jojoba oil to help soften and condition the lips.

My Experience with MAC Heroine Lip Glass:

First of all, I would like to clear up that this lip glass is in fact a lip gloss, but it is so much better than so many lip glosses in the market. I love that MAC has decided to make these lip glosses on the basis of lipstick shades that already exist because it gives us so much more versatility in something we can do with our lips.

This shade “Heroine” is described as a bright purple on MAC’s website and that is definitely what it is! Now, I have tried the lipstick “Heroine” and for some reason, even though it was widely raved as a great purplish plum shade for Indian skin tones, it was just something that never looked very good on me. I had opted for Fanny from the NARS Audacious line because I found that was incredibly flattering on me. But when I saw that Heroine was available as a lip gloss, I just could not resist and when I got the chance to do an IMBB sponsored product, I snapped this up right away!

This purple is such a delicious colour and even though it is the exact shade as the lipstick in the tube, it definitely sheers out a lot when you apply it on your lips. It does not sheer out to the extent of just giving a hint of colour, but rather is quite a nice bang of purple and is quite pigmented. This has been so flattering on me, I love rocking it in the day time too. This lip gloss also performs well and it definitely does not feel sticky at all. It stays on for 2 to 3 hours and does transfer to crockery and cutlery.

MAC Heroine under a different light:

There is no funky smell to this product and all in all, it does stay well. This can also be layered over the matte lipstick in the same name or just be worn with a purple lip liner. I however really like the look of it alone and the fact that it does not bleed or settle in fine lines really elevates this lip gloss performance!

Lip Swatches:

DUPE: This is also a great dupe for Urban Decay’s Revolution High Color Lip Gloss in Bitter Sweet, but the performance of it does lack when you compare it with the Urban Decay lip gloss.

Pros of MAC Heroine Lip Glass:

• Great color.
• Lasts fairly well.
• No funky smell.
• Not sticky.
• Quite pigmented.

Cons of MAC Heroine Lip Glass:

• Transfers a little.

Would I Repurchase MAC Heroine Lip Glass?
I love this, but I would chose the Urban Decay lip gloss over it, so I maybe will not purchase this again!

Would I Recommend MAC Heroine Lip Glass?
Yes I would, especially if you thought that the MAC lipstick in Heroine did not suit you, or you were not able to get your hands on it because this version of the same shade really does knock it out of the park!
