MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick Divine Choice Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Part of my huge Mac haul, Divine Choice was one shade which I was not very confident about. To cut the story short, it is a light shade which I feared would not show up well on my NC 42 skintone. Read on to know how it fared for me, in terms of shade and other aspects.

My experience with Mac Mineralize Rich Lipstick – Divine Choice:-

Already a lot has been said about this chubbier big brother of regular Mac lippies, so I would not go in details; only that there is no color coding which would have made the packaging perfect! The magnetic closure is a bonus to the otherwise regular mineralize matte and shiny black packaging of Mac.

The texture is super creamy with the goodness of minerals. You do not need any lip balm beneath or on top as it is creamy enough to take care of even the driest lips. The texture being so creamy you have to layer this on for two three swipes to get the true color. The fragrance is again typically vanilla which I love. It sits on the lips comfortably giving a pretty good wear time. With lip liner beneath it stayed on for more than 6 hours on me. On wearing without lip liner, the staying power will be reduced to 3 hours maximum. The texture makes the lipstick transfer , but thankfully it does not completely disappear from the lips.

The shade is milky pink which I was not so confident about. Firstly I have pigmented upper lip and secondly it was way too light for me. Still I dared to pick this up just because it is Mac. For me it is a very light pink shade which I would wear only on good skin days and that too during day time. People with lighter skin tones might find this as ideal baby pink shade for regular use. Considering the lightness of the shade you have to swipe a few times to get the desired intensity.

This is just me and my skintone that I do not like this shade much, but people with skintones lighter than NC35 or so, do try this at the store; this has a lovely milkiness to the pink, very uncommon in drugstore shades. Not that it is not dupable, but Mac is Mac, anyday!

  1. Looks pretty on you Rashmita but wouldn’t go down well with my dusky skin tone so unfortunately it’s a skip for me 🙂 Waiting for the other reviews from this range 🙂

  2. I am NC35 but I also wont dare to spend so much on this shade. It is such a lovely color!!! It would look lovely on girls with cool undertone but on people with warm tone like me….Phew!!!! I cant even imagine 😀

  3. Lovely color, but would not suit me either. Looking forward to other shades, most of them looked really pretty in swatches. 🙂
