MAC Samoa Silk Eyeshadow

MAC Samoa Silk

Price : Rs 720 (for refill)

MAC describes samoa silk as polynesian peach. It is a veluxe (Superfine pigment rich and very luxe. Supple to apply. Provides silky smooth matte finish) finish eyeshadow.

Samoa silk is a velvety smooth soft peach eyeshadow. It almost feels like silk when you touch it. It is a matte finish eyeshadow that goes on smoothly on lids. This is more of a buildable eyeshadow as opposed to a very pigmented one. One swipe of it and it gives that ‘wake up’ look to the lids. and if you keep building it up, you can get a gorgeous peachy color on lids. It goes well with almost all neutral eyeshadows, greens and purples. It is a great transition color and comes in handy when you have to soften the edges of your eyeshadow application.

I wouldn’t call it a must have but this works pretty much the ‘Soft Brown‘ way. If you are not able to find Soft brown at the store, try Samoa Silk. However soft brown is more brown and this is more on the peachy side. So give it a try before picking it up. It might get a little tricky to pull off sometimes. :)

Overall, absolutely no issues with the eyeshadow in terms of fall out or staying power. It’s a great eyeshadow on its own.

EOTD : You don’t necessarily have to use Samoa silk as a lid color. But for the review sake, I have used it as a lid color and built it up by patting the color as opposed to swiping the color on lids. I mostly use it as an overall wash of color to give a little lift to my eyes. :)

Rati Maam
BEAUTIFUL EOTD :)
After seeing your EOTD’s I feel like trying them too :p

One quick question..The online shopping websites that display ads on IMBB..they are all safe right? I am a novice when it comes to online shopping so i really wanna make sure and then make a purchase..Actually i wanna about browsecart.com
Do reply :)

Hi Srishti,

The ads are automatic and we do not claim responsibility for the companies but if your question is about safety of your credit card in shopping online, yes it’s quite safe. For a company, enabling credit card payment on its site is quite a lengthy process and a lot of fraud prevention is involved.

Plus if you ever have a fraud transaction, you can always complain to your credit card provider bank and claim all the money back. :)

Ratiiiii so pretty! And your touch of purple to your eye looks is the best idea I have come across in a while, it just adds the right amount of zing to the look. And you have such neatly shaped eyes with lovely lids that all colors and looks suit you! Beautiful is all I can say!

Reply

Shami November 29, 2012 at 10:47 am

you made the color look beautiful by your EOTD rati!!

Reply

Rati November 29, 2012 at 11:01 am

thank you everyone. :))

Jomo– *headbanggggg** :P

Parita, it could brighten up your lids and soft brown may end up doing nothing for pigmented lids. or vice versa. Samoa silk definitely need to to tried before purchasing because this I feel is a more complexion enhancing color than a coloured eyeshadow.
