My Experience with MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick Asian Flower:

The packaging is simple, smart and functional, which is enough for me. The body is unlike typical MAC lipsticks. It is slim slender packaging with a shining body and sticker at the base with shade name. If you have more than one of these on your collection, you might have to remember the name or open up each as there is no color coding. The cap shuts with a click and hence there is no chance of opening up in the makeup pouch.

packaging

You have to get one of these to know how beautiful the texture of the sheen supreme range is. It is more like a gel lipstick for me with the shine of a gloss and the pigmentation of a lipstick. Glides super smooth on the lips with no tugging or pulling. It is advisable to line the lips as the texture being gel-like, there is a probability of smearing. Though it never happened with me, but if you like to use this as an all-day lip color, it is better to line the lips with a light pink liner. Lip balm is absolutely not required, as this gives enough moisture to the lips. The lips remain hydrated even after the color disappears.

name

The shade is unique as it has definite blue undertones to an otherwise milky pink. It is a tricky shade I would say and would take a bit of effort to pull off. Fair skin beauties can wear it with ease, but NC40 and above would require some base makeup to really show off the shade. I pair it with blue/purple on the eyes and muted pink blush.
The lipstick is medium pigmented and two swipes are required to deposit color to cover lips well. There is absolutely no cakey feeling when you swipe the lipstick more to build up the pigmentation. On the contrary you might end up getting unwanted deposits on the corners due to the texture of the lipstick.

open

The staying power is approx 3-4 hours at the max. You have to use a liner/base to enhance the stay of the lipstick. Not a con for me though, but people who do not prefer touching-up the makeup throughout the day might find this a bit bothersome.

  1. I adore women who carry such difficult shades with poise. I wish I could also handle this shade.
AND Is it just me or the slimmer Mac bullet actually looks better.
