here’s how often i wash my brushes-

foundation brush (though these days i prefer to use my fingers) – after every application
lip brush – after every application
eyeshadow brushes – once a week
large brushes (powder/blush/kabuki) – once in two weeks

I follow the same routine, but I am not very strict about it :-( The powder brushes though get washed very properly, though.

Same!! :) ) Just that I wash my powder brushes once in every 10 days .

It feels so good after washing brushes. That clean clean feeling is very satisfying. :P

:)
i’ve noticed that my foundation applies better with my fingers. maybe because it’s quite liquidy and runny? using a brush was actually taking away the dewiness from the foundation.
my foundation actually applies better and creamier than my moisturiser!

I also love applying my foundation with fingers. I don’t have to worry about streaks or product wastage at all. Infact even with my MAC Mineralize foundation, sometimes I just scoop it on my spoon and apply it with fingers. I love the finish that ways.

Some people say that the warmth and oils in finger tips change the foundation colour. Never faced such a problem. Infact I do most of my makeup with my fingers. I even blend my blush with fingers at times. :P

i feel that the warmth of the skin actually HELPS in blending the foundation better, something that a brush can never impart. maybe if it came with a built in bulb or something :-P

Actually, I use fingers for foundation, rest of all the brushes, I wash it every week…….Rati’s post on how to clean brushes was very useful, I follow the same way.

As a rule of thumb, brushes used for liquid or creamy products should be washes after every use to avoid bacterial contamination..

Brushes used for powders can be washed once a week or fortnight depending on frequency of use.. :-) ) :-) ) :-) )

Usually once a week. I read in Vogue that the best way to clean your brushes is by dipping them in a cap full of Shampoo and then wash the brushes with cold water. That really helps!
