Makeup Geek Bitten Eyeshadow Pan Review

Recently, I hauled a bunch of Makeup Geek eyeshadows. You can see the preview post and swatches of all shades here. This review will be on the shade “Bitten.”

My Experience with Makeup Geek Bitten Eyeshadow Pan:

Packaging:  This eyeshadow comes in a pan which you have to pop in a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.

Shade:  “Bitten” is described as a matte deep maroon red. It is a very warm shade, and a perfect addition for those who love creating warm-toned eye looks. This colors pairs beautifully with so many shade from the color family of golds, browns or pinks. I absolutely adore this shade and this shade would be in my top 5 pick of must-have Makeup Geek shadows.

Pigmentation:  Pigmentation of this shade is fantastic and the best part is that it is very easy to build. You can easily diffuse this without it getting patchy or uneven in the crease or pack it heavily on the lid with a flat brush to yield a complete opaque color in two layers.

Texture and Blendability:  The texture of this eyeshadow is very smooth. It does not feel too dry or chalky on the lid but has the right amount of powderiness which makes it effortless to blend and merge with other shadows without looking like I have harsh edges. It does not emphasize any texture on the lids. It does kick up a whole lot of powder when you dip your brush in.

Staying Power:  Staying power is amazing. I did not see any fading or creasing for over 8 hours with an eye primer under.

Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying using these Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I have used many eyeshadows from across all brands and I can honestly say that these Makeup Geek shadows definitely have that high-end feel in terms of its ease of use and smooth texture. And I feel you just cannot beat this high quality for this price. I highly recommend this eyeshadow.

EOTD 1:

I have used “Cupcake” all over the lid with “Vintage” in the crease and “Mai Tai” as an inner corner highlight with “Bitten” smudged under lower lash line.

EOTD 2:

I used “Cupcake” as transition shade, deepened with “Bitten” in the crease, outer V and smudged on the lower lash line. Used “Cosmopolitan” in the center of the lid to give a pop and “Mai Tai” in the inner corner.
