Makeup Geek Cosmopolitan Eyeshadow Pan Review

Recently, I hauled a bunch of Makeup Geek eyeshadows, you can see the preview post and swatches of all shades here. This review will be on the shade “Cosmopolitan.”

My Experience with Makeup Geek Cosmopolitan Eyeshadow Pan:

Packaging:  These eyeshadows come in pans which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette, based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.

Shade:  “Cosmopolitan” is described as a rose gold shade with gold flecks and a shimmery finish, which is true to description. I love this shade, it has the perfect amount shimmer to make it apt even for everyday wear without looking like you are attending a glam party.  I adore the gorgeous rose gold tone which is very flattering on most skin tones and gives a very romantic vibe.

Pigmentation:  Pigmentation of this shade is excellent. It is easy to apply and easy to build up intensity in a couple of layers.

Texture and Blendability:  The texture of this eyeshadow is smooth and not chunky. It does not feel too dry or chalky on the lid but has the right amount of powderiness which makes it effortless to blend and merge with other shadows without looking like I have harsh edges.  It does not emphasize any texture on the lids. I did not experience any fallout and it did not kick up any powder when you dip your brush in.

Staying Power:  Staying power is amazing. I did not see any fading or creasing for over 8 hours and this was without using an eyeshadow primer (I did use a little bit on concealer to hide the discoloration on my lids and lightly set it with a translucent powder).

Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying using these Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I have used many many eyeshadows from across all brands and I can honestly say that these Makeup Geek shadows definitely have that high-end feel in terms of its ease of use and smooth texture and I feel you just cannot beat this high quality for this price. I highly recommend these eyeshadows and particularly this shade is absolutely gorgeous.

In the EOTD, I have used “Cupcake” as a transition shade, deepened with “Bitten” in the crease, outer V and smudged on the lower lash line. Used “Cosmopolitan” in the center of the lid to give a pop and “Mai Tai” in the inner corner. I have not used any eyeliner, just “It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara.”

• You do have to shell extra to buy a Z palette to put these eyeshadow pans in.
