How To Do Makeup Properly with Limited Resources: Ask IMBB

Chhavi asks:

Hey all the lovely beauties,

I am in a big big problem!! 😛  I have to go to a hostel in 10 days and I have just realized that I will not have any dressing table there, no big mirror, nothing.  Its a really small room with not very flattering lighting, it does have a small table that I can use.  Can you people suggest me something that I can do to make sure I am able to do my make up properly in my hostel room?  I am scared I might add too much blush or bad foundation if the light is not proper!!!!  Help needed!! 🙂

Also, I went to Meerut yesterday to complete all the formalities and visited a few shops you people had suggested, thank you so much for suggestions and special thanks to Rati and IMBB members to start such a lovely lovely thing :*

Thank you so much all.

  1. Chavi, totally understand hostel owes. I got my near to window bed only when i was in my internship :/ and had 3 other roomies to share my space 🙁
get those square mirrors with a stand and also which can be hung on wall option. place it close to where you have the best light source while doing makeup! for storing stuffs, try pouches or mini vanity bag. If you have an almirah, that would reduce much of your space probs.

    1. hi sukanya dear…thanks for the suggestions….i am most concerned about the lighting….is a good white light source as good as a natural light???

  2. Ask me!!! 4 years of engineering!!! 🙂 buy yourself a hand mirror(which can also rest on the table like a photo frame.. :O). and get the study-table lamp with white light!! do your make up.. take the mirror and run to the window.. keep some translucent powder and a good powder brush. If at all some color is overdone, powder powder!!

U’ll be lucky if all ur roomies are into makeup!! which most of them are or get influenced soon!!

    1. ha ha ha…..ya supriya….this seems like a nice idea 😛 😛 will definitely do this.
luckily i will be in a single room 😛 😛

  3. Not very experienced in Makeup Area but I would suggest the same as above. Just buy a mirror with stand and keep checking your makeup by the window. If possible place your table near the window.

  4. lol I miss my college now 🙁 Luckily we had a huge mirror in the hallway with lots of light….but during a common party or something there used to be mini fights just to get close to the mirror 😛 Anyway, makeup we still had to do in room only…..our room mirror was detachable and we used to bring it directly below the tubelight while doing makeup…

  5. loll!! that was cute. I suggest that you get a handy mirror. Those zoom in type mirrors are avialable at new u or any makeup shops. That might help you. 🙂

  6. Aah. Finally coming to Subharti, eh? 🙂
I was in shock when I first came here. Barely furnished rooms. 🙁
So I invested in a huge full length mirror, and I clipped a reading lamp to the edge of the mirror. So I can focus light on myself appropriately. 🙂 Works fine! 🙂

  7. A good table mirror and ur study lamp should help you with lighting worries. I am also going to recommend a simple solution of wet wipes , after you are done with all your make up, just take a look and very gently dab at areas that look like they have too much on, or are looking super powdery..
