How is the wedding season going on? I am enjoying this time getting all decked up in ethnic wear with loads of make-up and the best part about weddings is food. I am a total foodie and that’s the reason I am all over the different types of cuisines I get to have at different weddings 😛 Okay, so my pick for the day is a lip cream from “Makeup Revolution”. Let’s see how it fared!

My Experience with Makeup Revolution All I Think About Is You Ultra Velour Lip Cream:

I really enjoy choosing my shades from this brand because they have the cutest names ever! I picked two of these to try them out.
Packaging: The lip cream comes in a very pretty looking rose gold-coloured box with the name of the range and shade over it. It has this little window on it which lets us see the shade of the lip cream which makes it really easy to spot some if you own a few of these. The lip cream comes in a regular packaging which is round and sturdy. The slant wand is a perfect one which glides smoothly on my lips giving it a perfect shape.

Shade: The shade “All I think about is you” is a really pretty berry shade which is a perfect blend of mauve and pink. It looks really bright and nice on the lips. In fact it creates a nice pop brightening up my skin tone. It is going to complement all the skin tones beautifully. It actually resembles its name as it portrays a very sweet, romantic and feminine image of a woman. The berry shade remains till the time I don’t eat anything; after eating it gets transformed into a bright pink colour. The shade will be great for both day and evening wear and it will complement all the outfits too. Also, it can be a nice summery and a winter shade too. So a very versatile one for sure!

Texture and finish: The lip cream is thick and creamy like butter; I think it could better be called a chocolate mousse because the texture is exactly like that and it does smell like a butterscotch mousse. It glides on really smooth on my lips and layers my lips in the pretty berry colour. Some swipes are needed to build up the colour and coverage. It remains a little glossy with a slight sheen for some time and then settles to a velvety matte finish. The finish is semi-matte and it does not turn completely matte at any point! It will highlight chapped lips; it does not feel dry for the initial hours but once the creaminess goes away, the stain turns dry.

Staying power: It stays on its own on my lips for 4-5 hours without any snacks and meals. The red one from this range stays a little more than this one since the colour is a little brighter. With meals, it will just survive for 2-3 hours with a stain which looks really cute. If you plan to have a meal, if will get ripped off partly with the food. The stain actually looks like a bright pink one and once it transforms to a stain, it loses that berry touch to it and becomes totally pink.

• The packaging is beautiful, sturdy and travel-friendly.
• The formula is creamy and glides like butter on my lips.
• It is a feminine berry shade with a perfect blend of mauve and pink.
• It portrays a very cute, sweet, romantic and “totally in love” side of a woman.
• It brightens up my complexion instantly.
• A great one for those who do not like wearing extremely pigmented and bold pinks and purples.
• The finish is a really nice semimatte one and the stain turns completely matte.
• It stays for 4-5 hours on my lips without meals and 2-3 hours with snacks and full meals.
• Comes off easily with water.
• Loads of different shades to choose from.
• They don’t test on animals.

Cons of Makeup Revolution All I Think About Is You Ultra Velour Lip Cream:

• It highlights chapped lips.
• The coverage may be uneven at first and some good swipes are needed to make it even.
• The price difference is vast from country to country.
• Very expensive.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Makeup Revolution All I Think About Is You Ultra Velour Lip Cream?
Umm… I won’t really get it again because the lip colour market is huge! But I definitely recommend this if you aren’t comfortable wearing bold lipsticks; these are subtle versions of the bold ones. So go and pick your favourite shade from the lot.

Conclusion:
These do a really good job as lip creams but I just have one complaint, why does the price differ so much? 3 GBP and Rs 700, really? Isn’t that a little too much?
