Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Rose Eau de Toilette Review

Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Rose Eau de Toilette

!! Woohhoo!! *happydance* I found this toiletry on my hunt for a rose perfume. The other options for me were the rose edt from The Body Shop, loads of varieties from L’occitane and Ysl’s Parisienne. My first preference was the one from The Body Shop, but it was unavailable for the longest period in all its stores here in Kolkata. L’occitane wasn’t all that great and Parisienne smelt exactly what I wanted on the bottle, but like coconut oil on me( I don’t know why the chemistry went this wrong!!).Thus, I just purchased this.

My experience with Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Rose Eau de Toilette

I love the smell of rose. It is, hands down, what gets me in my aphrodisiac mood. This scent is one of my favorites and most worn. It is a powdery rose smell, but both the powder and the rose essence in the fragrance is just the right amount. The powder does not cloy in the least and the rose does not cause a sensory overload. In fact, the smell in whole is a pleasure for my senses. The rose smell smells like a rose that is mid-way of being swollen and dry and thus, the slight powdery feel to it. It is a very casual fragrance, something you wear on a daily basis, nothing you wear for a special occasion. Also, the fragrance is something you grow onto. The powdery smell will initially make you think if you want to purchase it or not. I, myself, have contemplated whether it is worth buying or not. I ended up purchasing it, as you can see. I did not like it at the first go, but now I like it.

The fragrance lingers on for a decent period of time, say about 4-5 hours. Wait, that is pretty good for an edt! Its sillage however is not all that great. Only if one stands close enough to you will she or he be able to smell this perfume, but that’s the way it is for the all the other fragrances in the floral collection by Marks and Spencer. The others being lavender (which I will review shortly), magnolia and lily of valley.

The packaging of the perfume is very pretty and very classic. It’s got a very vintage English feel to it. The cap is firm to the right extent, very easy to open and to put back on without the worry of it getting loose. The atomizer delivers the right amount of liquid, but isn’t smooth to use.

It takes a lot of effort to finish these Marks and Spencer perfumes. I use it every day and it is, almost, still as filled as when I had purchased it. It is a good thing, I suppose, but when it comes to these casual, everyday scents I get bored of the same thing and need something new frequently. So, I need choice and this bores me sometimes.

Pros of Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Rose Eau de Toilette

1. Right smell of rose.
2. Smell doesn’t cloy.
3. Good lasting power.
4. Pretty and sturdy packaging.
The point that runs mid-way through the pros and the cons, for me at least: the liquid lasts and lasts and lasts. Good thing it will last volume-wise, bad thing it might bore you.
