I splurged on a few lip liners from Max Factor, and today I will be reviewing Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in the shade 06 Mauve Moment. So, read on to know more.

My Experience with Max Factor Mauve Moment Colour Elixir Lip Liner:
This color kind of cheated on me in a good way! After using the Catrice Lip Smoother for a nude color, I came to a conclusion that nude lip colors are not for me. And, I picked this one up as I felt that it was a pretty mauve shade. The color on the tip and the cap made me believe so. It was only after I tried the lip liner at home I realised that it is not “mauve” as named, but a beautiful nude pink shade. The lip liner comes in a sealed plastic packing so you can be ensured that it isn’t used or swatched. The store I picked the product from didn’t have testers and I picked it up by just looking at the color; I would have never picked this product up had I tried it at the store. The lip pencil like the other Elixir range comes in gold and has the color of the pencil at the end. The transparent cap is sturdy enough and the product is travel-friendly.
The color is a pretty nude mauve pink. It is a perfect choice when you have bold eye makeup or when you want to have a natural makeup look. The lip pencil is creamy and glides like a dream. The pencil provides a matte look. The pigmentation is neutral; even while building the color up, it doesn’t give a pink color. It mostly looks like healthy natural pink lip color from far. I mostly have pink lip shades and the lip pencil goes with almost all the shades and provides a good base for the lipsticks, making them last longer. When I team this lip pencil with Lakme Absolute Magenta Magic Lip Tint Matte, my lips are sealed with the color for around 15 hours without any bleeding or transfering. So this lip liner is a perfect base. The pencil doesn’t provide any moisturization but the lip pencil works well with well-moisturised lips.
A lip balm is needed to smoothen out your lips every now and then but, when compared to ‘Red Blush’ lip pencil from the same range, I find this one better. This lip pencil doesn’t need a lip balm reapplication often. It also doesn’t crease the colors or cause intense dryness. I was able to go on for 6 hours without any lip balm application. The lip liner alone stays for 7-8 hours. The product is really long-lasting and it doesn’t transfer during the meals or drinks. The lip pencil is waterproof and a perfect choice for pool party and beaches. The lip pencil can be removed with an oil or a remover. The lip pencil is creamy and thus doesn’t drag or pull the lips and eases application. Overall, this is a very good lip liner. I love the nude shade, and this is a must-have as a base.
