My Experience with MaxFactor Facefinity All Day Primer:

I have got combination skin with an oily t-zone, so foundation on my nose and forehead starts fading fast whenever I apply makeup. Primers are must for me when I require my makeup to hold up for long. I have used many drugstore primers from Maybelline, Revlon, Inglot and Colorbar; among these, Revlon photoready primer is my favorite for my oily skin. This MaxFactor primer was an impulse buy for me as it was on sale. Let’s see how this primer worked for me.

bottle

Packaging: The primer comes in a transparent glass bottle with a pump. The pump has a locking system which makes the packaging good for travelling. The pump works nicely and dispenses the right amount of product. It has a plastic transparent lid also to cover the pump, but this lid doesn’t close tightly, and can easily come off and break.

Consistency: The primer is milky white in color and to my surprise it has very liquidy and runny texture. It is very smooth in texture. You need to apply very thin layer of it on face. It feels like applying any moisturizer on skin. It is very lightweight and spreads easily with fingers over the skin. It doesn’t feel overly slippery or doesn’t ball/roll up like some primers do. It doesn’t feel overly siliconey too.

Effectiveness: The texture makes the primer easy to spread. It absorb into the skin fast. Once absorbed it is totally undetectable on the skin. The foundation spreads smoothly over it. And the best part is it makes my foundation last really very long; even tinted moisturizes last long with this underneath. Foundation doesn’t fade and it stays put fresh until evening. And the oil control part of it just makes me happy. It mattifies my face but still maintains the glow. Normally, my face starts getting shiny over my t-zone within 2-3 hours and I need to blot my face with powder, but after using this primer my face doesn’t get shiny for long until mid day. I need to blot only once in my 9 to 5 job hours.

I don’t have much of large pores or visible wrinkles or fine lines. Soon after application, it makes the skin appear smooth, and blurs the pores and fine lines to some extent, but it doesn’t completely blur them out, though it doesn’t claim to do so. I can’t comment how it works for mature skin or ladies who have enlarged pores. Though it contains SPF 20, it doesn’t give any white cast in flash photography. Also, I didn’t get any breakouts after using this.

Fragrance: It has got some mild fragrance, which disappears soon after application.
