Today’s review will be on a Maybelline’s ColorShow lipstick. This one belongs to the older ‘Color Show’ collection. Let’s see how it fares!

My Experience with Maybelline 412 Earthly Plum Color Show Lipstick:
Packaging:
These lipsticks come in the same packaging as the normal Color Show ones. The plastic it comes in bears all the information about the product which isn’t much except the pricing and ingredients. The purple band indicates that the lipstick inside is some shade of purple. I like how classy it looks, but I would have preferred a Maybelline logo there. But, never mind! The packaging is nice, sturdy and travel friendly as it is.
Color/Pigmentation:
‘Earthly Plum’ is aptly named as it is a mix of brown and plum. I like the unique shade, but not every age group can rock this shade. Such a shade is best suited for older ladies. There’s more brown in it than purple or plum, hence it might look like a dark brown shade. But, when you look closely, you can see the hints of plum in it. The pigmentation is awesome. You can get away with just one swipe of the lipstick!
Texture:
This one is the creamiest lipstick I own. It’s super smooth and glides on so easily. It moisturises my lips for a long time. It doesn’t hydrate the lips though. It glides on like a dream and won’t highlight dry patches on your lips.
Staying Power:
It stayed on for a good 5 hours or so on me. You do have to reapply it after 3 hours or so. It fades slightly with meals in between, but that’s okay. Thankfully, it doesn’t leave a stain behind. It transfers like crazy though.
Smell/Taste:
It has a pleasant and very mild fragrance to it which is barely noticeable. And, once you put on the lipstick, you cannot even smell it. It has no taste, whatsoever.

• Moisturizes the lips
• Smooth and creamy; love the texture

• Staying power could have been improved
• Transfers a lot

That’s a beautiful shade for moms. I cannot see myself wearing this shade anytime. I like these Color Show ranges by Maybelline a lot. Some of the shades are so droolworthy.
