Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm–Pink Lolita

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for being slightly MIA as I was unwell. But I am alive n kicking’ now and couldn’t wait to write my next review.

After Rati’s review of these babies, I was absolutely itching to pick up a few. So, I went searching and to my surprise found them at my local store.I bought 2 of them and I am going to review the one that I have started using. It’s called wait for this Pink Lolita! Doesn’t the name sound completely raunchy and Shakti Kapoor-ish? Yuck! Let’s see how I liked it in spite of the completely disgusting name.

Price:

The colored ones are Rs.150 and the neutral ones are 125.

Shade:

When I swatched all the shades on my hand, this one completely stood out and looked the most tinted on me. It’s a pretty rosy pink that just about shows up on the lips a few minutes after application and gives a pretty rosy tint. I find it very natural and pretty.  Although I think being a balm, this shade is not pigmented enough to show up on pigmented lips or those with dusky tones. I have to swipe it on my lips a couple of times for the tint to show up. But I am not complaining since I bought a lip balm and not a lipstick.

Packaging:

I think I have never loved the packaging on a lip balm more than this. It’s absolutely perfect and girly and I love the vibrant colors and the font on these.

Texture:

What has struck me about these lip balms is that they are so super-smooth and easy to apply. They just glide on the lips like butter. In spite of having SPF 16 or something, these don’t leave any sort of whitish-cast behind. They are completely non-flaky unlike some other lip balms that have SPF like the Lotus Herbals. It’s not very heavy and doesn’t feel like its sitting on my lips. My lips look and feel really soft and healthy with this on and the faint pink flush it gives (God, didn’t that sound like a TV commercial?)

Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm–Pink Lolita

I have listed all the pros above. What’s better is I can actually stand the mild fruity fragrance! Apart from that I think it lives up to its claims of baby lips. I can feel that because after being sick my lips are hopelessly chapped and flaky. This has taken care of such severely chapped and flaky lips like nobody’s business!

Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm–Pink Lolita:

Well it’s a little weird to say I have ‘Pink Lolita’ on my lips. But you see, I am just messing with you, there is absolutely no con that I could find for this.

IMBB Rating:

20/5

Overall Verdict:

If you have not heard of them yet, or have not bought at least one of these babies, then please go back to hibernation. I am going to pick up each and every one of these and would highly recommend it. As far as this shade goes, if you are fair to medium, this is a gorgeous tint to pick.
