Maybelline Blushing Bud Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review

After trying out the Rose Rush shade from the Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom range, I decided to try out some more shades, and here I am reviewing the Blushing Bud for you. Read on to find out if I liked it or not.

My Experience with Maybelline Blushing Bud Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in the standard Color Sensational lipstick packaging – a sleek metallic tube with a rectangular cap. The “Rebel Bloom” range has a bright mauve-y pink cap. The sticker at the bottom of the tube is color coded to help identify the lipstick if you have multiple of these lipsticks. The packaging is sturdy and looks classy.

Shade: Blushing Bud – Aah, I just love the name. And I keep visualizing a bed of beautiful flower buds just shy of turning into full blown flowers 😛 The shade itself is a very delicate pink which looks so lovely in the tube. On my pigmented lips, the shade does not translate into the same lovely pink color and it tends to lean slightly towards purple, but I still love the shade. It is apt for everyday office wear. Those of you who love soft pinks will surely like this lipstick. However, this shade might not suit dusky skinned beauties.

Texture, Finish, Pigmentation:  The texture of the lipstick is very balm-like. It is easy to apply on the lips and I would like to point out that the shade “Rose Rush” was slightly harder to apply. This is not a super moisturizing lipstick, but at the same time, it does not feel drying either. The finish of the lipstick is a beautiful glossy finish.

The lipstick applies a bit sheer. Even though one swipe is enough to cover pigmented lips, the color never becomes too intense even after multiple swipes. If you are expecting a deep intense color pay-off, this lipstick is not for you. The staying power of the lipstick is average – it stays put for around 3-4 hours. It transfers to cups and glasses and does not survive a full meal.

To summarize, the Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in Blushing Bud is a delicate pink shade with a glossy finish and a decent formula at an affordable price.

• Sheer pigmentation, though I personally do not find this a con.
• Transfers a lot.
• Average staying power.

Would I Repurchase Maybelline Blushing Bud Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick?
If you are fine with sheer pigmentation and are looking for a light pink lipstick at an affordable price, you can purchase this. I would not repurchase this exact shade but I already have other shades from this range.
