It has been quite some time since I have done a lipstick review. I had reviewed Maybelline Bitten Lip Colorsensational range of lipsticks quite some time back. Today, I am reviewing Maybelline Lip Flush Colorsensational Lipstick in the shade C001.

My Experience with Maybelline CO01 Color Sensational Lip Flush Lipstick:

If you know my love for lipsticks, then you might be aware of my immense love for coral lipsticks 😛 I keep buying new coral shades every time I spot one. That’s why I picked up this “almost coral” shade from Maybelline’s lip flush range.

Maybelline CO01 Color Sensational Lip Flush Lipstick outer packaging

The packaging of the lipstick is beautiful. It comes in a rectangular shaped tube wrapped in a cellophane paper bearing the product description, ingredients list, etc. The tube has a mirror finish and it closes with a long plastic cap. The cap of the lipstick is similar to the shade of the lipstick and it has silver detailing on it. The brand’s tagline is printed on the cap in simple fonts. The base of the tube bears a color-coded sticker showing the shade number. There is no shade name assigned to these lipsticks. This makes it quite difficult to remember the shades. The cap shuts tightly and does not slip off. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

“C001” is a gorgeous peachy-coral shade, which looks beautiful on the lips. The lipstick does not contain any shimmer or glitter. This shade is pretty wearable and looks nice on the lips. This shade is great for everyday use. I wear this to college every day because it does not look too bright or over the top. It has a soft, glossy sheen, which becomes dull with time.

This is a sheer lipstick but it has a decent amount of pigmentation that a sheer lipstick must have. So, you can really not expect high opaque coverage from this one. I have mild pigmentation on my lips and this lipstick is capable of hiding all that pigmentation and looks even on the lips. Unlike other Maybelline lipsticks, this range is absolutely fragrance free. It does not have any taste and smell.

The texture of the lipstick is super smooth and creamy. It glides all over the lips like a dream. It does not tug or pull on the lips. This lipstick is very creamy and moisturizing, similar to a lip balm. It does not cling on to the dry patches of the lips. It is more like a tinted lip balm. So, you really cannot expect high color payoff. It needs to be layered on to get good coverage and still it does not feel heavy or waxy on the lips.

The application is very smooth because of the creamy consistency. The formula is very hydrating and my lips never feel dry. I am totally in love with the texture. It’s so so moisturizing and nourishing that my lips never feel dry with this lipstick on my lips. The creamy formula of the lipstick makes it prone to transfer.

The lasting power is average considering it’s a sheer lip color. The lipstick leaves a beautiful stain on the lips that lasts for pretty long even when the glossy sheen of the lipstick has gone. The color lasts for some 4 hours or so on my lips. It leaves a soft stain that can be taken off completely using a good makeup remover. Overall, I just love these lipsticks for everyday use.
