Hi guys, today I want to review a product my dad got from USA sometime back but I use it a lot these days since winters are approaching and this is a nice fall/winter shade to use these months. Read on to find out more about this lip stain.

My experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Stain – #65 Cranberry Crush

I had never heard about or used  lip stains we may get in India or maybe I was too ignorant. So when my dad got this stain from US, I was super excited to try it out. So now let us come to the review.

Packaging: This looks exactly like a sketch pen we used to draw with, as kids. It has a felt tip which helps in fine as well thick application of this bold red shade. The outer covering is silver and red for me since my shade is cranberry but I looked up online and found that the cap matches the shade name so I guess it is easy to remember the shades when you have too many of them. It is quite travel-friendly.

Texture: As the description says, it is a water-based pigment and it does feel so. It is just a pigment and there is no heavy feel to this. It looks like you have had a pan or ice gola (If you know what I mean).

I really felt as if I am using a sketch pen on my lips except that it had Maybelline written on it. 😛 The color pay-off is really good. The stain is quite pigmented for me but I can’t say that about the lighter shades. The problem with this stain is that it is very drying and you should use a lip balm with this one. That way, you don’t end up licking off the product to hydrate your lips. Do exfoliate your lips prior to this because it will look ugly with chapped lips. It gives a really good matte finish.

Shade: The name is cranberry crush -it is a dark maroon shade but since it is a lip stain, it does not look that opaque. In fact it is a good thing for me since that way I can pull off this shade without having to look scary. Personally, I wished Dad had got other shades but I tried to make this work for me. This will look good on medium skin tones during winters. I am not a fan of the shade but I like the product as such so I use it whenever I can.

Staying power: The staying power is amazing. It keeps on going for 6-7 hours for me. With a lip balm, it does fade after 5 hours but the tint stays. You need to remove this with a makeup remover.

No, because it is not available easily and I like lipsticks better than lip stains as such.
