Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick Choco Pop Review, Swatch
Everyone is pretty familiar with Maybelline’s Colorsensational range by now. The shade I got recently is Choco Pop. I was looking for a MLBB/nude shade that was a little different. The MLBB shades I currently own veer towards brick and are matte. I wanted something that was totally neutral, without washing me out.
What the company says about the colorsensational range: Crisper color from pure pigments. Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar. ipcolor so rich, so stunning… it’s sensational. 33 Captivating Shades.
I noticed that the Choco Pop Shade doesn’t seem to exist on the US site. I found it only on the Indian site.
Cost: Rs.299/-
My take: Choco Pop is a light frosted brown, quite a low intensity shade but not sheer by any means. It goes on the lips quite smoothly. What it does for me is even out the pigmentation of the lips and add some interest by way of the slight shimmer. It doesn’t look frosted in the tube and even on the lips, the frosting is quite mild, it just makes my lips look dressier than when I wear a regular nude shade. It makes its presence felt, without looking overwhelming. It is the perfect compliment to a smoky eye or any strong eye-centric make up look. Because it is so subtle, it is also a good lippie to wear to work and meetings as well. As I am medium toned, this is more or less MLBB, it would show better on fairskinned girls. Darker toned people may find that it washes them out.
I was a little doubtful about the shade when I tried it on, since it was a new look for me, but both my friend and my husband liked it on me. Staying power is not that great, better than the lakmes though– and I don’t mind reapplying! I don’t have an issue with the fragrance of these lipsticks – to me somehow they smell more like hot sand than toffee, but it is a smell I can live with.

• Versatile as it can be worn both lighter and thicker
• Sheen that is not too loud
• Does not accentuate fine lines
• Very reasonable price
Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Choco Pop
• Tricky shade – will not suit everyone, especially darker toned people
• Not long lasting

Will I repurchase: Not sure. Will definitely explore the ColorSensational range more; whether I will repurchase this depends on how I feel when the tube is over!

Try the lip liner Choco Pop as well. Its really good. I like wearing it topped with clear gloss sometimes..lasts quite a bit.

Swatch it, it is not brick at all. Very mild. I had to swipe many times for the colour to show.If I tan a bit then I cant wear this!
