Review: Maybelline colorsensational lipstick #515 coral crush

How is the week going??? weekend again yuppieee!!! somehow I love weekends and this weekend I might get a haircut and some shopping

Since it is summer and everyone was going crazy for Corals and neons I was also searching for something. Then Rati came up with the quite cute collection and the MAC Candy yum yum caught my attention. After that while browsing at the CVS rack , I and found 515 coral crush. This is a neon strawberry pink- some what watermelon-ish. It is a very neon pinkish coral that has no shimmer and a nice creamy finish. When I saw this lipstick I instantly liked it lots. some people say this is a dupe for MAC Red Full Stop and I thought its a dupe for the candy yum yum.

 

I had always experimented with eye shadows but with lips it was either neutrals, light pinks or clear gloss. This is the 1st time I got such a deep vibrant shade and it was a gamble for me. While buying it I asked the SA if I could get it back if it doesn’t suit me… she started laughing!

It costs around $7.99 and with some discount I got it for $6.

After coming home I tried it on. Coral Crush has a creamy formula, which glided on my lips and the finish is nice, glossy, and semi-opaque. very very pigmented.

I wasnt having anything else on my face but after applying this my face kinda brightened a little – I dont know- it just did something nice to my face.

I was still having second thoughts about this. and then I ate and slept and danced and all and totally forgot about it. After hubby dear came back from work he just asked “What have you done? you look nice!” it was the faded lippie ka effect… So I decided to keep it :shy: :shy: The packaging is square silver tube with a red plastic cover. very okay-ish – nothing special!

It stays for 3-4 hours and even if you eat stuff it leaves a faded hue on the lips. But if you wear it without applying lip balm, it dies out the lips and then goes in the lines and crevices which I found looked very ugly

I am mediun -fair skin toned and it suits me quite well but I found that it goes very well on dusky, tanned girls as well. But this is a very bold color and I’m not so sure if it is suitable for office/day wear. You might wear it for fun at the movies or shopping!!! basically its a fun color and not for the weak!! LOL

BUT- while clicking photees for this post I had put it on the bath tub ka edge and it fell from there and broke and since that time it is acting all difficult.. I m not able to apply it properly and it is flaking on me and stuff. I tried to keep it in the fridge and then use it but I guess it lost its moisture content and becomes super flaky when I try to apply it alone. But I guess if I try to apply with brush or fingers it might work well. But honestly I didn’t get it. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick My mahogany works so perfectly and I am using that since months now. But this one doesn’t even though they are from the same range. I wonder why! So, summing it up:

PROS of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Coral Crush

- lovely color, instant face brightener.
- very creamy formula.
- gives a subtle sheen to the lips.
- stays for 3-4 hours.
- good value for money if it stays properly.

CONS of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Coral Crush

- it easily broke
- became dry very easily
- after a while becomes dry and flaky
- transfers easily (If you know what I mean)
- goes in the lines and crevices of the lips and that might make you look older and ugly

Will I repurchase? I don’t think so didn’t work for me..

Rating: 3.5 just for the shade.
