Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color Silver Sand Review

I have been very busy lately due to pressure at work and a never ending season of marriages. Phewww but, now I will be expressing my views on quite a few products before I disappear again hehe. Today’s review is about Maybelline’s Colorsensational lipstick in shade Silver Sand. Read on to know why I regret picking this up.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color Silver Sand:

Packaging: Now at INR 275 I did not expect this to have a very luxurious packaging. Still, it has a plastic body, which is brown in color. It is not too sturdy or anything, but still shuts with a click. Also, I have dropped it once but, nothing bad had happened to it. So, it is travel friendly as well. The impressive part is that Maybelline has packaged these lipsticks according to the family of the color that they belong to. For example, if you buy a lipstick that is red hued you will get a red packaging and since the shade I had chosen is brown hued the packaging it came in is brown. It also has shade name written on a sticker pasted on its bottom.

Shade: this is the part that disappointed me the most. I still can’t understand what made me buy this particular shade. It is a frosty light brown shade and gives a metallic finish to the lips. It looks truly horrible on my NC30 skin tone and adds years to my age. As the name suggests it also has minute silver shimmer particles, which I totally hate.

Formula and texture: the formula and texture of this lipstick is very fine and feels light and comfortable on the lips. It glides on quite smoothly and it’s so soft that it has even melted and completely deformed now. It however doesn’t bleed or settle into fine lines. It is truly nourishing, but definitely the 8 hour moisture claim is a bluff. All in all the lipstick is adorable with respect to formula and texture.

Fragrance: now coming to the second most hated part of this lipstick. I really can’t figure out what kind of disgusting smell this lipstick has. It’s totally nauseating and can give a tough competition to Lakme satin enrich lipsticks for having the worst smell possible.

Staying power: the staying power is quite average and it stays for around 2 hours on my very dry lips.

Coverage and color payoff: the coverage and color payoff of these lipsticks is commendable it gives a fair coverage to my pigmented lips with two swipes.

Now summing up pros and cons of Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in shade Silver Sand,

Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color Silver Sand:

• Travel friendly.
• Keeps lips hydrated.
• Glides on smoothly.
• Affordable.
• Adequate coverage and color payoff.
• Doesn’t bleed or settle in fine lines.

Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color Silver Sand:

• This particular shade did not suit me at all.
• Horrible smell.
• Some may not like how it deforms in hot weather.
• Silver shimmer looks rather ugly.
• This particular shade can add years to your age.
• Staying power could’ve been a bit longer.

IMBB Rating:

2/5 for this particular shade.

Would I recommend/repurchase Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color Silver Sand?

A big no. I will never repurchase any of these lipsticks again. Even if I find a flattering shade the cheap chemical smell is too much too handle. However, if you don’t have any problem with the smell and find a flattering shade do give this range a try.
