Hope you all had a great weekend. This is my first review in 2013, so very excited. Today, I am going to review a lipstick from the popular Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme range, which I guess needs no introduction. The shade which I am reviewing today is Wine Divine 818.
A divine creamy feel, with a built-in lip balm and SPF 15 for sun protection. Gives crisp color extracted from pure color pigments.
Rs. 220 for 4 gm.
Wine Divine 818.
My Take on Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color – Wine Divine:
Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick – Wine Divine (818) is a beautiful shade from their browns. True to its name, it is nice wine color lipstick with a hint of brown in it. It would compliment dusky skins a lot. On my lips, it leans more towards brown, but looks beautiful. I find myself reaching out more for this lipstick. It instantly brightens up the face. During day time, I tone down the color a bit by applying loose powder which not only gives a matte finish, but also increases its staying power.
Since it is dark color lipstick, it would make a nice color for parties or brides to be. Texture wise, it is very smooth, creamy and glides on lips like a dream without effort. Awesome pigmentation, one swipe gives full color and covers lip pigmentation also.
Since it is a dark colour, you have to be very careful while applying it or else there are chances of going out of lip line easily. Using a lip liner and lip brush for application would solve this. Fair-skinned people might find it too dark. I have swatched it on my palm also for you guys to have an idea how it looks on fair skin. Actually, the wine color shows up better on my palm.
Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color – Wine Divine:
- Superb pigmentation, one swipe is enough to show up the color.
- Very moisturizing, true to its claim.
- Doesn’t settle in fine lines.
- Decent staying power.
- Nice creamy finish.
- Covers lip pigmentation.
- Universal color but would flatter dusky complexion a lot.
- Nice color for brides to be.
- Budget friendly, easily available.
- Sturdy packaging, travel friendly.
- Color code at the bottom.
Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color – Wine Divine:
- Might smudge or bleed if not applied carefully.
- On fair skin, it might be too dark.
I would definetly suggest this color for dusky complexions and those who like dark lip colors.
