Today’s review is about a pretty fuchsia shade which I picked up from the newly-launched Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte lipstick range. I don’t generally wear loud pink shades, but I wanted to try something different from the usual corals and reds. Let’s see whether I loved it or not.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Vivid 6 Lipstick:
Packaging: Like all other Maybelline lipstick ranges, the Vivid Matte lipsticks also come with that red cap and silver tube packaging. Maybelline should revamp their packaging, as it is difficult to identify the corresponding lipstick unless you memorize the shade numbers and store them upside down. The lipstick is sealed in a plastic cover which houses the ‘Vivid Matte’ logo, and is destroyed on opening the seal. There is a color-coded sticker on the back of the tube, with the name printed on it which helps to identify the shade. It is sturdy and travel friendly.
Shade and Pigmetnation: I bought the shade “Vivid 6,” which is a very bright hot pink. It is definitely an attention-seeking shade, so if subtle colored lips are your thing, steer clear. This is definitely a bright fuchsia color, very summery and perfect for young girls. I don’t think I would call it a shade for mature ladies, but you gotta have the oomph to try this. The shade is best suited for fair to medium skin tones, although it does make me appear a tad bit darker. There is a slightly neon undertone to it and the pigmentation is bang on. One swipe deposits full color, but I prefer two swipes for an opaque bright color.
Texture and Quality: This lipstick also has a soft smooth texture like most other shades of this range. It glides so easily on lips, feels silky against lips, and the lips feel smooth and hydrated. The color deposition is even and it feels quite lightweight. It is non-drying and feels comfortable on the lips. The best thing is the non-drying matte texture. I hate super matte lipsticks which makes my lips so parched. This shade is transfer-proof to a great extent, I apply it and kiss the inner palm. It sets the lipstick evenly.
Staying Power: It stays put for hours on end without feathering and bleeding. Moreover, it doesn’t settle into the fine lines of the lips. It stays long around 6-7 hours even with a meal in between. With a reapplication, you easily make your lips look flawless an entire day. The bright pink stain remains even after the actual lip color has faded, say after 9 hours and hence my lips look super pretty for a long time. Also, the shade is easy to remove with a wipe.
