My Experience with Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Gradation Coral 1:

packaging

Packaging:
I always love Maybelline’s packaging. This lip gradation comes in a very cute and long packaging. The color of the packaging indicates the shade of the lip color, which is really helpful to identify the color. It has two ends, one is lip crayon with a black cap and the other side has a nice, soft smudger sponge with a cap.

Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly, and so cute too. Also, the black cap has a small sponge pad that keeps the lipstick’s tip safe. It comes out with a twist at the bottom of the pencil. It is so easy to use and store. The twist works perfectly. Only the quantity is a little less according to its price. But it’s worth for me.

Shade & Pigmentation:
Lip gradation comes in 8 different shades and it is really difficult to choose just one. It has a nice variety of light to bold shades. I have the shade Coral 1. Coral 1 is an extremely beautiful coral shade with a hint of pink. It has a neonish touch to it, so it might not suit every skin tone.

It can wash out dusky beauties easily. But, it looks so pretty on light to medium skin tones. It looks very natural pinkish coral, and is a perfect shade for summers. It gives a fresh and bright look to my face. The shade is well pigmented and it can cover up pigmented lips easily. One swipe builds up nice intensity color. With few swipes, it gives perfect coral lips.

Lip Gradation:
This lip crayon comes with a new technique called lip gradation. Gradation means ombre lip effect. Maybelline has provided a nice, soft sponge to create this look. The sponge is neither too hard nor too soft, it is ok. But still this technique doesn’t work great with this lip crayon.

It is a matte lipstick and has the tendency to dry out quickly, so the color doesn’t smudge evenly on lips. The smudger makes lips look dry and patchy. And also this gradation doesn’t look nice on pigmented lips. I feel that lip gradation looks better with glossy texture.

Texture & Quality:
This is the smoothest lip crayon I have ever tried. It is so creamy and glides on like butter. It feels extremely light on lips and spread easily on lips. It actually feels as if the lip crayon is automatically gliding on lips. It doesn’t need any pressure to blend. It imparts a smooth and matte finish on lips. I totally love how it looks on my lips.

It gives fuller pouty lips with a perfect matte texture. As I have extremely dry lips, it feels dry on my lips after few hours. So I always need a moisturizer before application. Dry and cracked lips need a good moisturizing lip balm before this. As it dries out quickly, it needs fast application; otherwise it will look patchy.

Staying Power:
This is the only Maybelline lip color which stays for so long on my lips. It almost survives 8-9 hours on my lips. After 6-7 hours, it leaves a beautiful pink stain on lips, and it stays until you remove it. Yes, it transfers little just after the application, but once it settles nicely, it doesn’t transfer that much. It still looks good after a heavy lunch and even after a long day.

Only a little color fades away from the center of my lips. The main problem is that again it dries out my lips after having lunch or after 2-3 hours. But the problem can be fixed with a lip balm; just dab a lip balm at the centre of the lips.

Overall:
This is a beautiful lip crayon with a great matte texture. Also, this lip color is quite similar to ‘Rock The Coral’ but the texture and staying power of the lip gradation range is much better.
